Myrick had a bunch of nice defensive plays and the kick return obviously. No doubt in my mind he was our MVP.

Leidner...even including the pick...more receiving than rushing...

Myrick - especially since he stepped it up after his penalty, rather than letting it fluster him.

Btw: MN > NW > WI We're obviously better than Becky, see??? :p

Leidner has gotten better and better. Very nice to see! Today he was exactly what we needed out of him. Made his runs count and hit some big plays in the air.

There was one bad pass thrown today between both teams.

What a game.

Our ends, Maxx and Isaac. Big time when we needed them.

Myrick with Mitch as a close second. Mitch played well, outside of that awful INT. That was just bad.

Mitch and Maxx and IF14 all played well and made a difference. BUT, Myrick is the MVP of this game. No doubt.

I agree with Myrick, but Leidner deserves a lot of credit today for his passing.

A close game, but Minnesota executed better than we did. Congrats on the win.

Some props to Wilson as well. Dude was a beast again today

Myrick was the MVP, but I suspect he would say his blockers were. He only had to break one tackle.

Exactly. The best part of that is maybe wait? what! won't spend all this coming week ragging on Leidner like he did last week.

How about today's crowd? O.K., maybe not. Myrick did a great job and probably deserves it.

I can't tell you...but it certainly wasn't Murray...

Great team win again, but how is Mitch not on this list? On sack was a little inexperience, and he locked in on Maxx on the pick, but it's hard not to. One incompletion was the drop by Cobb. I thought he threw the ball really well. He's gaining poise and confidence and leading the team in the way JK intended when he handed him the reigns in January. NW slowed down our running game and Mitch won the game with his arm.

This isn't a shot at Mitch, but throwing for 150 yards and an interception isn't going to get you MVP consideration.

That said, he did play very well.

Murray didn't have that bad of a game. He finished strong. He certainly did have trouble with Prater's size, no doubt. Remember, he spends the game on an island. That allows us to do other things like the safety blitzes and the aggressive run support from CThompson, AJohnson, and DTravis like you saw today.

Agreed- he had two or three pass breakups in the last quarter

Thanks! I thought both teams were pretty even. It took a very rare kind of special teams play to win it.

Northwestern has a very well balanced offense and it is less predictable than ours. I wish our coaches would take a lesson here. So far Minnesota has had a pretty decent season but the lion's share of the credit goes to the defense and special teams.

How many yards will it take?

You want our coaches to consult the losing team for advice? Interesting idea.

To be the MVP of the game? 200+ with 2+ TDs and no INTs

You'll never be considered the mvp of a game when you throw 1 Int and 0 Tds. That said, he had a good game and I was fine with his play. He's not our best player, so I'm not concerned when he doesn't look like our best player.

I went with Myrick, I didn't like the direction that game was heading at all after Northwestern scored to tie the game on a drive that seemed over multiple times. Just a huge swing in momentum to take the lead back immediately and not have to worry about whether the offense could get in the end zone again.

I think Cobb's day is a little underrated as he got more than what was blocked for him consistently. The run game was not very good (to put it kindly), but Cobb wasn't the problem with it.

I'd like to point out myrick was a rivals 5.3, a 2 star recruit. I kow it's not that exciting when we sign a 5.4 or 5.5 guy like Alonzo Craighton tomorrow but this staff can recognize talent where others seem not to.

Myrick, who ran approximately 110 yards in 12.38 seconds. Per a Google search, the dimensions of a football field are 120 yards X 50 yards. He caught the ball (essentially) on the goal line, about ten yards from the NW sideline. He ran fairly straight and scored within a few feet of the Gophers pylon, so as he ran the field he went sideways about 40 yards. The Pythagorean Theorem states that A2+B2=C2. (100*100)+(40*40)=11600. The square root of 11600 = 107.7 yards. Rounding up because Myrick obviously juked and moved side to side a little, he ran approximately 110 yards.

I would call that ELITE speed, and for that return he deserves the MVP.
