Who is your second favorite big ten team?

I am excluding Wisconsin and Iowa. The reason? The poll has a maximum of 10 and no one should have one of those two as your second favorite! Also, not included was Maryland and Rutgers...

I never lived there, but I was born about 30 miles north of Lansing and have lots of relatives that live in the area. I've always followed Michigan State as much as any team other than the Gophers.

For me, it's MSU:

• They seem to be a classy program on the rise.
• I like Dantonio's no-nonsense, Belichick style. "Yeah, that's right, I'm going to wear a sweatshirt."
• They seem to do "more with less" with respect to recruiting rankings.
• They seem to have a sort of "lunch pail" ethic.
• They played second fiddle to scUM for many years.
• They have a solid defense. Good run-game.
• They win.

They got my vote b/c I appreciate the history of the downtrodden NW program and the underdog. I love what the Barnett years were able to accomplish! I also admire Fitzgerald. I see him as one of the classiest coaches in the country doing things the right way!!! Respect to the NW program.

Not really I refer to it as the Ambivalence Bowl and pull for whoever would help the Gophers by winning that week.

Oregon Gopher, it's not out of choice that I live in the Cornhole state. As for what other Gophers think, I have several friends who I graduated from the U with who feel exactly as I do. They may be polite when they are winning but they are absolute d#cks when another team is perceived as a threat (as the Gophers are now).
