Who is the Gophers MVP in the HUGE win over Michigan?

C'mon, you have to give it to Mitch. They really needed a performance like that out of him.

D.Cobb. He was special in the 1H

Coach - Limegrover
D - Secondary
O - Leidner/Cobb

I voted for Cobb but it easily could be Mitch just because his performance was what we needed.

I voted Cobb based on how hard he played and his production. I think Mitch's play allowed Cobb to remain effective. Mitch made some huge plays to keep the D semi-honest and take advantage when they weren't honest.

The defense and Mitch played great but have to give it to Cobb in this one because once again he was the work horse.

Keep in mind, Cobb outgained the ENTIRE Michigan team on his own. Hard for that not be our MVP, even though so many guys played so many key parts.

Cobb. He learned from the TCU game and came out and owned Michigan in the first half. The threat in the second half was enough to keep Meat Chicken on their heels in the second, but when we needed him, he made plays in the 2nd. Outgained Michigan -- by himself.

Mitch played well, but our passing game just did enough to keep the honest. Our running game was dominating.

Side note: If Cobb hadn't played so great, it would have been Botticelli, he was everywhere today.

The Team! Offensive line played their best game in more than two years. The defensive front 7 played great. The deep 4 were unbeatable. The receivers caught the ball, the running backs ran it and Leidner was terrific. The special teams were killer.

This was the definition of a team victory. Minnesota didn't beat Michigan, they beat Michigan up! A very proud day!

Cobb single handedly got us back into the game in the first half when it looked like it could slip away.

Cobb was an easy choice for me.

After that, it's Leidner for not turning the ball over and making some plays through the air, and Botticelli on D for being so disruptive.

I am not sure who was more valuable. Both played very well, and it would have been a totally different game if either was on the sideline. There were several clutch, long runs by Cobb and Mitch threw some good balls and factored in both scores. Great game by both, and I don't think there is a correct answer to this!

I thought both the O-line and D-line were terrific today. Their efforts brought about the success for everyone else. Huge props!

I agree with this. The offensive line did have a solid game all around. It took them a little while to get going, but overall their performance was great. The defense really impressed me, especially Elmore, Boddy-Calhoun, Wilson, and Botticelli. It was a great game in the trenches for the Gophers!

This +1. Huge TEAM win!

Huge TEAM win! Hard to pick one individual. Leidner and Limegrover deserve some special praise. Clayes and the D as well!

Big 10 Game ball number one to David Cobb, because he played like the first true Big 10 back we have had since Laurence Maroney and Marion Barber III.
A close second MVP and another Big 10 game ball would be the play of both #46 Cameron Botticelli and #55 TC, Cockran played like the guys they are capable of being. The final
Big 10 game balls number three go to Peter Mortell, for fantastic punting.
The honarable mention Big 10 game balls go to Damien Wilson and Zach Epping for taking on blocks and kicking their guys butts a lot this game.
Zach Epping he is my kind of football player, the kid is playing with a bad wheel and he played as hard and as tough as anyone on the football field today.
I don't have to mention #88 Maxx Williams because everybody already knows how good he is and that he has an NFL pedigree.

All three of these guys with the first three game balls are going to play football on Sundays in the NFl. Say what you will about the Brewster but he gets a shout out, he did'nt have the skill to be head coach in the Big 10 because he wasn't ready, but he did have enough eye for talent to pick these three guys out and get them to come to Minnesota and be Gophers. This current staff is developing them into players that likely well could play on Sundays. I have to think the scouts are taking notice of Cobb, Epping and Botticelli and that TC is already on their radar along with #31 Eric Murray.
All three have god given talent and are good football players, but they are learning enough in college that will prepare them to be Pro Football players.
I would bet a lot of money that people are finally realizing that #46 Cameron Botticelli is one hell of a football player. Now the task at hand is going to be keeping Tracey Claeys in the fold as defensive coordinator for a couple more years until the Gophers have turned the corner completely, because he might just be showing he is good enough, and ready to be a head coach. Freshman defying there youth #22 Craig James you can tell he is already special because he is wearing the #22 made famous by TC and LoMo and Gaelin Elmore, and Steven Richardson JR. Elmore and Richardson had an impact on todays game and these guy's are true freshman, Coach Kill hooked a couple really good players in those two, they are going to be special along with Celestin the linebacker. Man there is a lot of youth on this football team and the future is bright.
Mitch doesn't quite get a game ball yet, because he can and will do better. Mitch knows he can play better and he will do that he will earn his Big 10 game balls against Iowa and Nebraska this year.

I voted other. I would nominate myself. I did things differently than I did in 2003 where I jinxed the loss. I can't tell you what I did, but now I have the formula.

Impossible to single out one person, or even one unit. A HUGE TEAM WIN.

I'll give it to Dpo since he has been so quite lately.:cool03:

Pretty good team win. Does Cobb run for 183 against a top 10 FBS defense without some blocking? He is a beast. He is arguably the best back in the B1G. There are a lot of great components to this team with a secondary that might be second to none, stout LB play, some receivers starting to get in the mix...I'm pretty jacked.
