Not many consecutive left. Those might all be gone after today.

Let us know where you were able to get seats.

Happy picking!

I'm picking at 12:45 pm today. What time are the first people generally scheduled to start?

It looks like things are really getting down there. I would be surprised if there are consecutive seats left to pick after today (depending on how many people are slated to pick).

Regarding the singles...

Do they just keep insisting all people on the waiting list pick them or does the waiting list jump to people who only have single seats listed for the number they are looking for?

If I were on the waiting list for, say, 4 tickets but I insisted they be together... would I keep my place in line for next year or would I lose my chance completely if I don't want them split up?

I think it starts at 9:30, there are some purple dots going in already this morning. You will be one of the last to pick consecutive seats I am sure.

I'm not sure you will get to pick from consecutive seats....there are only 17 left. They have been flying off the board this AM.

Let us know how it goes with picking and what your options are if still want to sit together. My guess is the obstructed view seats will start to disappear...but we won't have visiblity to that.

The questions Schnauzer asks is an interesting one.

Less than 20 consecutive remaining. No green on the map now. Just two small sections of yellow. All consecutive will likely be gone by 10:45. However, there are quite a few singles that are next to each other in terms of one row up from another. I wonder if people will be willing to go that route if they want two seats together (better than being separated by several rows).

I think Dylan might be out of luck. Only 15 consecutive seats left at 10:30 am.

I picked at 10:10 and got 2 in Section 231 Row 28. woohoo! I was 1301 on the waitlist. My family will be happy since I won't be using the tickets for a couple of years.

3 sets of 3 and a pair of pairs! That was sure quick work for you Monday AM selectors!

Even if we have a dozens of singles still sold as single game sales, I need only remember the seas of empty seats when I first arrived on campus in the late 90's to be so happy as to how far we have come in the last decade. The student section was seriously 10x smaller back then, and I know a good deal of students who were slow to get tickets. I never could have dreamed of an on campus stadium sold out to the brim

Can't wait for Nick's official tally tonight, have fun counting all those singles Scoop.

I notice several obstructed seats upstairs could be paired with singles in their row if the ticket office did some sliding around. If somebody on the list desperately wants a pair it might be worth getting on the horn with Mariucci to see what shakes loose. Maybe if those singles are still around Wednesday, the ticket office will be ready to talk turkey.

Wow, impressive and great to hear. I'm a little surprised they made it to 1301+ on the wait list. Also great to know that (besides the suites), the entire stadium will be season ticket holders (via students or regular seats) except for the away tickets and athletic dept allotted tickets. Take that, media pundits and doubters of our ability to sell out a 50k stadium!

Here is one question, though. What are the chances that the tickets bought from the waitlist (was the number ~2600?...) were bought by opposing fans and/or scalpers. It is impossible to get a grasp of the large-scale waitlist person by reading this board, since most are regular season ticket holders, and very few bought off the wait list. I suppose worst-case scenario there are an additional 2,600 WI or whoever fans at the game in addition to the 3k visiting tickets. I am just excited to see an all-Gopher stadium.

Regardless of how many becky or pigeon fans may have bought season tickets, you will never see similar numbers of opposing fans in TCF as you did at the dump. A couple reasons. More Gopher fans, less seats, and NO BEER.

I don't know how many opposing fans would buy tickets. As mentioned earlier, I was 1301 on the waitlist and I submitted in Feb/Mar (can't remember exactly). I find it hard to believe that tons of Becky fans would sign up for Gopher season tickets, especially that early. I suppose a few could sneak in and pick up singles now if they wanted. I'm just happy to see it damn near SOLD OUT!!

Very good point. Based on your comment, its likely most of the season ticket holders are Gopher fans.

I know what you meant, but this struck me as funny. I would hope it's more than "likely" over 50% of the season ticket holders are Gopher fans.:D

I was just looking and saw six seats "together" in 219. When I say "together" I mean in consecutive rows and within a seat or two along each row....

My recomendation for your question about selecting seats now or waiting for next year would be to select seats this year in a spot where you can get them the closest together. Then at next years renewal ask to have them located together. It may take a few years, it might just take one, but there will be movement in seats and you would end up together... The other thing is you can always "stand" in the concourse or plaza or behind the accessible seats with your ticketmates if you need to get together during the game...

Go Gophers!

I've posted a billion times about how I submitted a waiting list app in mid May (an attempt to pick up a hanging single seat next to my reserved 4).

I just called the ticket office to ask how the singles are going to be handled. Take this with a grain of salt because the college work-study kids I've talked to at 800-ugopher typically have conflicting stories and are generally mixed up with the knowledge they have been supplied.

But...

I was told they are marching through the wait list regardless of how many seats were requested on any individual application. If people get to select and they don't want to break up their party they get an option to stay on the wait list and the process continues. He also said the wait list was 5000 deep.

That's what I was told anyway. If my wait list entry didn't go in until a month ago, it would explain why I haven't been given a selection date and overall I would be surprised if that single seat will remain next to my four seats when/if I get to select.

FYI, I find e-mail to be the better way to contact the Ticket Office. You get your questions answered by the folks who actually have the info, not the part-timers. You also get the e-mail address of the head honcho (Customer Relations Manager Dan Cohen) for additional questions.

tickets!

just picked my tickets. as mentioned, there were no consecutive left but I got in section 231 (hope all those calls for it being the rowdy 'not quite' student section prove true!!!) in consecutive rows 16, 17 with the same seat number (7).

as far as I could tell there were 'consecutive (not same) row' (same seat number) tickets available in 231, 232, 219 and 215. there were 'consecutive (not same) row' tickets with seats within two of each other in...218 (seats 6, 7) 233 (seats 7, 8) 236 (seats 9, 11) 216 (seats 9, 11).

I AM PUMPED for some gopher football.

We picked at 12:10 today. All consecutive seats were gone by then obviously so we called the ticket office to ask about obstructed view in rows 1 and 2 of the upper deck. We got Section 215, Row 1, Seats 7 and 8. I looked at the stadium map afterward and couldn't figure out how those seats (in the middle of the row) could be obstructed. I called the ticket office twice and asked about our seats, both times they told me the seats are NOT obstructed. First row upper deck after being 1300+ on the waiting list = awesome. If you have yet to pick, I suggest calling 800-UGOPHER to ask.

Excellent tip. Thank you! I just took your advice and emailed the ticket office.

What great luck. I wonder if your seats were being held by the ticket office to be used in case people with obstructed view seats wanted to move.

I have a buddy who got two seats right next to mine. A couple of weeks ago, he received an e-mail from the ticket office telling him that his seats were considered obstructed view and wondering if he wanted to move. One of the options he had for moving was to take the two seats directly behind mine which were showing on the map as already selected. That is why I think that there are probably quite a few non-singles that have yet to be sold but are not showing as available to the public.

I would definitely call the ticket office and talk to them before picking up singles if I was still waiting to pick.

Oh, and if you are curious, my buddy decided to keep his seats and not move. He has the two seats closest to the plaza in row one of the upper deck (section 246) so the only part of his view that is obstructed is if he wants to look a the people in the plaza area behind the end zone. The field should be 100% viewable from his seats. Plus, he likes calling himself the cornerstone of TCF Bank Stadium. :)

I just picked my seats without realizing that there were consecutive "obstructed view" seats available. When I called in and asked if I could switch my seats I was told that it was a done forever thing. Does anyone know if this is true or if it is a "done forever until you speak to my supervisor" type of thing?

Edit: I called back and it is a "done forever until you speak to my supervisor" type of thing :D:D

So what did you pick then? Two single seats?

Any idea of what "obstructed" actually means? In the Dome, it normally meant you were behind a pole or something in the upper deck, but don't forsee that here.

Railing(s) that are in your sightline to part of the field.

You are one of the luckiest guys ever. Those are two of the best seats that you don't have to pay a premium for. I know because I have two just like them. As a matter of fact, I almost took yours on April 29. I visited Gopher Stadium three times to make sure the view is as good as I thought it would be. It is. The obstructed view seats in Row 1 of the Upper Deck are the aisle seats on either end of the row because the railing is higher there to catch people who might trip walking down the steps.
