Who is MVP of Gophers dominating win over Iowa?

There is no MVP!! Any other answer is wrong. This was the definition of a total team effort today!

The entire team. All three areas: offense, defense, & ST.

Maxx Williams. 3 touchdowns and one sideline catch dragging his foot. What else does he have to do? I agree this was a total team effort but if you have to pick an MVP it's Maxx. He is gonna be on Sportscenter tonight.

I'll add a vote for Mitch. He was pretty much flawless today. Can't really ask for much more out of him.

Although Maxx Williams was a spectacle today too.

Jerry Kill gets my vote….He got em all ready to kick some butt

Mitch by far. Max was great and we could nto have won without him but someone had to throw Max the ball! Mitch read the plays correctly and put the ball in a position to be caught.

2nd goes to the defense they stepped up and put a whoopass on the Hawks

I don't know who the MVP was, but Boddy-Calhoun's INT was the biggest play of the game.

Good call. If I remember correctly, that was on Iowa's second drive and they had already picked up a few first downs.

Yeah. It was Iowa's second drive and they were moving the ball again. Always helps when you can break service like that.

Max Williams really helped ML today.
Probably one of them.

KJM played his best game as a gopher today.

I would also give an honorable mention to the Iowa kick returner

I think GopherHole nailed it with its two nominations. I can't decide between the Gopher "D" and Maxx Williams, so I'd just award co-MVP's. I don't think the importance of that sideline catch by Maxx can be overstated. I believe that was a 3rd down play and the difference between having to punt and eventually scoring a touchdown in a game that was just getting going. That combination of the stretch to haul in the pass and the ability to drag the foot was like something out of a "Best of Cris Carter" highlight reel. Not much can be said about the defense to single out one guy, but forcing turnovers and punts all day long was really impressive. It's a shame Iowa scored with a few seconds left as the defense deserved for that game to go in the record books as one in which they gave up just one score.

Man, it sure looked like the whole team bought in to this one. The defense playing their assignments and it working to perfection. The offense clicking in so many ways. Cobb, a bonafide superstar, blocking on the jet sweeps numerous times. Special teams dominating. I heard too many things about the powerful lines for Iowa and our guys knocked them back on both sides of the ball. These Gophers might be more talented than anyone gives them credit for and I think they are extremely well coached.

I voted for Maxx because of "The Catch," but Iowa had no chance against our defense.

From the Des Moines Register. They'd pick Mitch.

Leidner entered play Saturday with six touchdown passes all season. He had four against the Hawkeyes, a team that recruited him. This from a Minnesota team ranked last in the Big Ten in pass offense before the game.

Maxx was awesome no doubt and Mitch played very well today as well but it has to go to the defense as a whole. Outside of that first drive Iowa never really threatened to score which allowed the offense to work with great field position and to build a lead. Really felt like there was no way that Iowa was going to mount a comeback with the way the defense was playing.
