Distant 3rd. Illinois.

Mich St had legit reasons why the poor W-L record occurred. Sparty gets a pass (I think).

Few B10 teams have more talent than Illinois. Even fewer wasted it like Illini did.
 

Yeah, there are different categories of disappointment - disappointment at full strength (or near it) and disappointment due to personnel losses. Illinois falls into the former category, while the Gophers fall into the latter category. MSU I think falls into both categories - they were losing to almost all the good teams they played against with Lucious, but played worse after they lost him. So you could make a compelling argument that Illinois is the most disappointing team because they don't really have any good excuses - they beat ACC champion UNC and turn around and lose to UIC with the exact same group of players.
