I was looking ahead to the draft and thinking about who has a shot at being drafted or at least making a NFL camp. Here is a list of the Seniors, according to gophersports...

95 Wilhite, D.L.
40 Tow-Arnett, Nathan
38 Schwerman, David
26 Rallis, Mike
1 Green, Brandon
43 Grant, Ryan
4 Cooper, Keanon
39 Wettstein, Jordan
2 Stoudermire, Troy
8 Reeves, Spencer
81 Rabe, John
24 Kloss, Matt
5 Gray, MarQueis
23 Carter, Michael

I could see Gray and Carter getting drafted....possibly Wilhite. Anyone else have a shot at camp at least??

Wilhite, Carter and Gray.....Maybe Gray by the Vikes. That would be cool!

Carter and Gray have a chance to be drafted. Wilhite, Stoudermire and Wettstein (seems like he has a big leg- someone might take a shot at coaching him up) will get camp invites.

I gotta say Carter and Gray for sure. Outside chance for Stoudemire and Wilhite.

I would love to see 'Quies on the Vikes. We could use a guy with his all-around talents on the roster. So, I hope they draft him!

People will take flyers on Carter and Gray in the later rounds. Carter turned it on this year but if whether that was enough to warrant anything but a later round pick will be determined in April. Gray never showed enough as a quarterback or reciever to ever be drafted. But he will be based on his athletic ability.

As for wilhite and Stoudemire, I think they are camp invites and probably practice squad players at best.

Carter will be interesting. He had a heck of a year and if he runs well, I think he could jump up the draft boards. He's close to 6'0", he can play the ball, I think he could get picked in the middle rounds.

Gray, he is a freak athlete, he'll get drafted.

Stoud...it'll be tough for him. I wouldn't be shocked if he ran really well.

Wilhite. . .I really doubt he'll get drafted, but he'll have a chance to make a team.

K. Cooper....he'll probably get an invite to camp and he can really run for a LB, you never know.

Rallis....will probably get an invite to the Vikings camp, but I think there is virtually no chance that he plays at the next level. (I hope I'm wrong).

I was listening to some national draft expert on TV (don't remember which one) and he said he doesn't see Gray getting drafted. I would have to think someone will take him in the later rounds. Otherwise I am guessing Carter is the only other one. Of course a lot depends on combine/pro day results

Michael Carter has a chance to get drafted depending on his 40 time and his workout numbers. His poor 3 years will hurt him with NFL brass even though he had a nice senior year. Having Tyrone Carter on his side might give him some help in round 7.

Willhite is another guy who could get a shot late in the draft depending on his numbers. Teams love edge pass rushers especially if they can stand up or play in a three point stance.

M. Gray is going to have a challenge in getting drafted. Its great to be a physical beast but he has no position. If the NFL draft was 12 rounds he gets picked but I wouldnt use a pick on him. I might take him as a practice squad type free agent and develope him but I wouldnt draft him.

BigTen network is where I saw the "expert".

I compare Carter a little to Willie Middlebrooks. I think Willie moved up due to good workouts and a good timing on his pro day. I'd think Gray gets drafted in the 6th or 7th.

Middlebrooks was always thought of as a top 2 round pick because of his size. He maybe climbed into round 1 but he was a top 2 round pick not a borderline pick.

Carter if he has a good combine/work-out. The others are free agents.

I think Carter gets drafted, Gray didn't show enough at WR to get drafted, but he will definently get invited to a camp as will Willhite, I think Cooper, Rallis, Rabe and Wettstein will get invited to training camps, Wettstein has a leg, so you never know with him. I think Gray and Willhite will make a practice squad somewhere, but Cooper, Rallis and Rabe will get cut, Stoud, might make a practice squad, he can return punts and kicks, but I don't think he can cover at the NFL. But goodluck to all of our seniors, if I'm wrong about these guys or someone makes it that I didn't mention, happy to eat my words

None. Gray doesn't have a position. Not fast enough or quick enough to play WR. He will play in the CFL. Carter is not one of the best CB's in the Big 10, throw in the SEC and then the other conferences, he drops further down. Stoudermire has a chance as a free agent kick returner. Both Carter and Stoudermire have some baggage in terms of attitude and playing up to their potential.

So, honorable mention isn't one of the best CB's in the B1G?? That probably puts him 5-8 in the B1G.

Gray...yeah position is a question. Personally, I think he ends up as a receiving tight end. He's also a guy you can motion or use as a wildcat QB....plus he can serve as your emergency/3rd string QB. I think he could be valuable in the NFL.

P.S. I didn't quote 3399 so for everyone else that has you blocked (like I do), you don't have to read your negativity.

95 Wilhite, D.L. - Free Agent Look
40 Tow-Arnett, Nathan - Nope
38 Schwerman, David - Nope
26 Rallis, Mike - Nope (though he might get a courtesy invite from the Vikes but he doesn't have NFL size or speed so doubt it)
1 Green, Brandon - Nope
43 Grant, Ryan - Nope (though maybe Bud can pull some strings and get him a tryout with the Vikes based on his last name)
4 Cooper, Keanon - Free Agent Look
39 Wettstein, Jordan - Nope
2 Stoudermire, Troy - Free Agent Look
8 Reeves, Spencer - Nope
81 Rabe, John - Might get a free agent look by someone, long shot to make it
24 Kloss, Matt - Nope
5 Gray, MarQueis - If he has a good pro day he will definitely get drafted based on raw ability
23 Carter, Michael - Like Gray needs a good pro day. If he doesn't get drafted in late rounds will definitely get Free Agent Shot somewhere.

As was noted by others, Carter and Gray are the only two with any shot of getting drafted. Wilhite, Stoudermire, and Cooper probably have the best shots of catching on with someone in free agency. The rest will either hang up the pads or go play in some other league that is out there.

Sorry, but just being realistic, not negative. Calls it as I see it.

95 Wilhite, D.L.- camp invite unless he has a solid pro day. then maybe a 6-7 round flyer
40 Tow-Arnett, Nathan- nope
38 Schwerman, David-nope
26 Rallis, Mike-camp invite
1 Green, Brandon- nope
43 Grant, Ryan-nope
4 Cooper, Keanon-camp invite. again could get drafted if he has an outstanding pro day.
39 Wettstein, Jordan-camp invite
2 Stoudermire, Troy-camp invite unless he runs a wicked fast 40
8 Reeves, Spencer-nope
81 Rabe, John-camp invite
24 Kloss, Matt-nope
5 Gray, MarQueis- i see him as a round 5-7 guy. great athlete. tough position. but for god's sake, pat white and marcus vick got drafted.
23 Carter, Michael- i see him as a late rounder unless he has a good pro day with a fast 40. but with a bad pro day he could turn into a camp invite really quick.

Admittedly this is a pet peeve of mine but would people please stop referencing a player will play in the CFL if you know nothing about the CFL? Gray will not play in the CFL. There is no position up here for him. He is not a CFL quarterback.

Players that might end up in the CFL are Stoudermire and Carter. Troy especially, good return guy and good tackler, I could see him having a pretty strong CFL career.

Carter, Gray and Troy will all play in the NFL. Who will be drafted? Who knows, just remember it only takes 1 team.

Gray is as quick and fast as the majority of the WR's in the NFL. The question is, can he win a position? For every Jordy Nelson or Percy Harvin (speed and quickness) there are 4 Danny Amadolos or Sidney Rices.

Carter would start on the majority of the top 25 teams. Don't believe me? Wait 5 years are so and see who plays in the NFL; Carter will be one of them and most of the 2012 starters on those teams wont.

I can see Gray as a hybrid tight end. He has the size and speed to succeed there. Who knows about Carter. I think he fits the mold of a lot of DBs out there. Sometimes it makes a difference which team gives you a chance.

Carter is very good. He will play in the NFL. Gray will get drafted in the later rounds and frankly I think he'll have a very nice career in the NFL. He could play RB (yeah, yeah, too tall, etc. I don't care he's a gifted runner), WR or TE. The practice squad is made for kids like him should he take a year or two to hone his skills at whatever position he ends up at but he also has all the tools to be a good special teamer while he learns his craft, too. Anyone see the burst on the run he made when he landed on his head; the kid can move like a deer, he's huge and he's a a leader and i also think he's a winner. Wilhite has no chance.

I think a more interesting question is what positions for Wilhite and Gray. Maybe doesn't matter if they are not at all star games or combine where you kind of have to 'declare' for drills

Gray just tweeted he got his invite to the combine!

This is massive for Gray because from a physical standpoint he should test off the charts. If he runs well and can demonstrate ability to catch the ball he will shoot up draft boards on size/speed alone. Any word on what position he was invited at?

I think Carter gets drafted, Gray didn't show enough at WR to get drafted, but he will definently get invited to a camp as will Willhite, I think Cooper, Rallis, Rabe and Wettstein will get invited to training camps, Wettstein has a leg, so you never know with him. There are countless examples of college QB's who were drafted to play another position and didn't play a single down in college besides QB. Heck, Matt Jones was drafted in the first round as a WR without ever playing the position. At least Gray has shown he can play the position and has good hands.

Julian Edelman, Ronald Curry, and Brad Smith are a few other examples. Even Joe Webb was expected to be a WR in the NFL, not QB. If Gray does well at the combine, I think someone will take a chance in the late rounds.

Cornerback is a premium position in the NFL these days, and so are guys with ST expe

Never underestimate how NFL teams value special teams experience and guys that can play on kick offs and coverage units and lower salary's to fit under the salary cap.
For this reason I see both Michael Carter and Troy Stoudermire getting drafted, in the NFL if you can run, cover and tackle or pick the ball off you get noticed by NFL scouts.
That and both Michael Carter and Troy Stoudermire have return games assets they can bring to the table. You have to be versatile and have some flexibility when your
a later round pick. I see both of these guy's picking up NFL paychecks, now they have to work out well at the NFL pro day and scouting combines.
In this day and age when NFL teams are looking for athleticism they are also looking for guys that can do multiple things like play on special teams, kick off coverage
and return teams. I would have to say these two guy's because they can play on special teams and play corner back will be drafted in rounds 4 to 7.
I just don't see all 32 teams letting these guy's pass through as undrafted free agents when so many pick cornerbacks. Don't underestimate the value of either guy
Carter or Stoudermires ability to play on special teams this will be attractive to pro scouts, and it is something I would sell if I were these players agents or advisors.

Marquies Gray will get plenty of looks when your his size and can run and catch the ball someone will find you a spot. He will be motivated to catch the ball now that
his NFL paycheck is on the line. I do see him making it in the league because the guy is just a good enough athlete to do so.
I would have to think DL Willhite at least played himself into free agent status and camp invitations. He has pass rushing ability, he is a little light for a defensive end
but he is a good enough situational pass rusher and plays the run well enough to get looks. These are the 4 guy's I see as possibly having some NFL league interest.

Maybe Raabe get's a tryout or looks, perhaps if he works out well at the NFL day, but that is about it for the Gophers.

I could see Ryan Grant becoming a coach, he is a smart football player and comes from a line of coaches so do not be shocked if someone wants him on there coaching staff as a GA and that he works himself up the ladder. There was a reason he played all four years he was here the kid understands the game of football.

I am humbled by the exuberance that a Gopher or two will get drafted. I love you guys!
