I think its a no brainier. He ruined what could of been the best basketball team we have had since the final four run, and he keeps this clown running our football program into the ground that will take years to recover.

Maturi, because Brewster is gone regardless. It's time we start over and clean house in that department
 






Nice language
I don't care if a person is critical. Everyone has an opinion. Mine are these polls really don't mean a thing. You and I have no say on whether Maturi or Brewster stays or goes. We can complain all we want but in the end it is determined by people who are a lot closer to the situation than any of us.
 

But if you happen to have a negative opinion on the subject you are not a real fan? Where are you going with this?
 

If there were a third option (brew_recruit), I would choose that one.
 

I don't have as big a problem with Maturi as most here. It's his job to run the entire athletic department and outside of football, he's done a decent job.

And there are ways to get a new football coach that wouldn't necessarily involve Maturi. If Bruiniks is truly serious about the state of the program, he (and not Maturi) could convene a big-time hiring panel that includes a lot of the disillusioned boosters to get the job done. Involving them may inspire them to open up their pocketbooks and get the level of coach they believe the program deserves.

My problem with that is that when the M Club was deeply involved in the program during the 1970s, they fired Murry Warmath, brought in M Club candidate Cal Stoll (classy good guy) and then threw him to the wolves and brought in total incompetent "Smolderin'" Joe Salem. And lest we forget, a lot of M Club guys--along with official M Club Jock Sniffer Sid--thought the Metrodome was going to solve all of the program's problems.

All this said, Brewster was an absolute stretch and that is becoming apparent and Maturi has to bear a lion's share of the responsibility for the hire.
 



Voted for Brewster first because I agree with Bleed, getting rid of Brewster would relieve the tension with the kids and allow them to just go out and play football, which is the best we can hope for at this point. Maturi wouldn't be far behind for me however...
 

Definately Maturi. The Brew hire was an absolute disaster that has taken the shine of our new stadium already. He can't be forgiven for taking such a huge risk on such an important hire that missed sooooo badly.
 

This is ridiculous. Brewster has shown little in his abilities. Maturi has shown some. In a football forum, from a football perspective -- yes, Maturi goes first. Overall, as an AD? Maturi is doing damn well. Minnesota is not only tops in the Big Ten annually, but one of the countries best in overall sports performance. He's been involved in the new stadium, as well as the new baseball field... Yeah, he needs some work, but compared to Brewster -- he's better.

That said, both need to go.
 

1) And that's another Golden Gopher...First Down! Without question, that's the first thing that should go.

Please stop contributing to the non-sense. It's beyond embarrassing.
