Who deserves Big Ten Coach of the Year?

Jerry Kill deserves it, Urban Meyer will win it.

I believe the last time an Ohio State Coach won the award was 1979 or earlier. Meyer should get it. Went to the conference favorite with a freshman QB and blew them out. Is undefeated in league play. Love Kill and think he will win it in the next three years.

I think Meyer will win and I also think Anderson will finish ahead of Kill in the voting. Had we beaten Wisconsin it would have been Kill.

I wonder if they look at where the team was projected to be at the end of the year, versus where they actually ended up. If they did, I think Kill would have a leg up on everyone. Wisconsin is basically where everyone thought they would be, and so is Ohio State.

One could make a convincing argument for all three coaches, but in my opinion Kill deserves it more because both Meyer and Andersen currently have got a heck of a lot more to work with.

No disrespect to Meyer or Andersen...but I think Kill should be a shoe in. The other two's programs are very well entrenched and performed as expected.... sure, they didn't falter, but 'come on man...

I dunno, I love Kill and the Gophers about as much as anyone, and the arguments for Kill winning it given the talent he has vs the production this year is certainly there. But Meyer has come in and won 24 consecutive regular season conference games, and he did so this year with a backup freshman QB (even if the roster around him is stacked and their backups could start at half of the B1G teams). If we win at Wisconsin, Kill absolutely deserves the award. Yes, 3 of our 4 losses came to likely top 10 teams (TCU, OSU, Wisc), but we did still lose them plus an Illinois game. Kill's time will come (and I'm thinking/hoping next year is the one). Meyer wins it with Kill squeaking by Andersen for 2nd in the voting.

OSU would have a winning record if the coaches were in the stands. Urban does not coach.

So then why isn't Michigan winning? They consistently out recruit Wisconsin. Why is Wisconsin so much more successful in recent years than Michigan? Wisconsin must not coach either. Maybe Michigan is over coached.

Also, I'm guessing recruiting does not factor into this award. My opinion? It should. Jerry Kill deserves the award for doing the most with the least, but he is also at least somewhat responsible for having the "least" isn't he?

Just an observation.

Wisconsin graduated their entire front 7.

They have the #2 defense in the nation nonetheless.

Kill me.

Call me a homer but I don't see they're argument at all. Top 5 recruiting classes for like ten years in row, to me, mean you SHOULD be in the playoffs. Its not like their was a whole lot of drop between Tressel, fickman?, Meyer. If anyone has a right to pull a nebraska its those guys.

Kill has done a lot with a much less. I'll Start the statue fund when we get into the playoffs.

I think illinois is the worst bowl eligible team in the country....but

Tim beckman went 2-10, lost to kill
4-8, lost to kill
6-6, beat kill

Kill went 6-6 beat beckman
8-5 beat Beckman
8-4, lost to beckman

If kill deserved it he deserved it last year. Wouldn't have been in my top 3 this year (Anderson Meyer beckman)
