Anyone that thinks MSU is significantly better than Iowa is an idiot. The line on the game is like 3 points. Bama would smoke Sparty just as easily as they would Iowa.

If you just hate Iowa, fine. But to say you want MSU to win because they have a shot at winning the whole thing is beyond stupid. They would be just as much of a significant underdog against any of those teams as Iowa would.

The last time MSU played Bama they were 11-1 going into the game and lost 49-7. Get a clue, people. They lost to freaking Nebraska, for God's sake.

Gotta love the "your opinion is different than mine so you're an idiot" statements. Also what does a game that happened five years ago have to do with anything?

I think Michigan St. is a better team. Therefore I think they have a better shot at doing something in the playoffs. Just my opinion though.

You should go help your lady find some grass to graze on under that snow.

To quote one of your previous posts "Pathetic effort".

Also easy to see that your a big Iowa fan.Take away your "Hey, what about Iowa" and "ISU sucks" posts and you got nothing. Not bright enough to understand that people don't just see the "GoUgophers", but can easily see your posts huh?

As for this post..

Referencing a game from January of 2011 to make a point? Sure it seems stupid, but you're not trying to make any sense are you. You're just butt-hurt that your Hawkeyes aren't getting the respect that you think they richly deserve.

Yep, MSU lost to NE on a horrible call, but they lost. They did beat Oregon, tOSU and Michigan. All ranked, highly in the case of Oregon and tOSU, at the time they played them. Iowa didn't have to play any of them. The Hawkeyes beat the Sconnies by 4 and hammered NW. That's about it.

Your Hawkeyes have done a GREAT job going 12-0. Much better than your lame attempts at trolling by the way. There are some decent/reasonable Iowa fans who post here. All reference Iowa or Hawkeyes in their moniker. Heck, not only don't you get any credit for Iowa's season, your moniker says you don't want to even be associated with them!

They get a shot to finally earn the respect you are so desperately seeking on Saturday. They may even get a shot at a National Title. Unlike their other National Title, this one won't come with an asterisk.

My mistake. Sorry GoUgophers. That won't be your title, but you still get to be proud of the 7 National Titles your Gophers have huh? :cheer:

I always root for Iowa...

... one and only one game a year -- that's when they play WisconSIN. I'll be pulling for Sparty in this game.

Sparty is going to stomp Iowa.

Frankly, Sparty stands a good chance against all potential members of the field except Oklahoma.

The national championship will a rock-paper-scissors-esque matchup, I'd be surprised if there was a prohibitive favorite.

So you use a game that was played 5 years ago as a measuring stick of whether 2015 MSU could play with 2015 Alabama? Um, I think Dantonio has brought that program along quite significantly (especially in the trenches, OL & DLs) since that sledge-hammering Sparty received from the Tide in Orlando. Saban must think enough of MSU that he backed out of a home-and-home series that was supposed to start next season.

As someone who follows MSU, if they get to the CFP, think I'd prefer Sparty open with Alabama rather than Clemson or Oklahoma. Teams that prefer to sling it and have a top-shelf QB will give MSU more trouble because the D-backfield is their biggest weakness. Would much rather get into a physical slugfest with Alabama. Sparty has the horses upfront to compete with Alabama's lines.

There's only one correct answer to this question.

As Supadupafly said it would be tough for most Gopher fans to pull for Iowa I would think. I also think overall it is best for the conference if MSU wins because they are more equipped to deal with the other CFP teams. Iowa is really solid but I don't think they are on the same level as an Alabama or Oklahoma. Of the two I believe MSU would give the conference a better chance of having back to back National Champs.

I am glad we are upwind from the pig farms to our South.

I do not have anything against MSU, other than the fact Dantonio looks very constipated all the time, but I hope Iowa wins. Iowa develops O line and defensive players, and they looked like a different team starting with Iowa State, with Beathard at QB, and a couple of real backs for the first time in years.

I used to like watching Iowa play in non-Gopher games back in the Hayden Fry era, and although Iowa is much more boring and cannot bring in the same level of talent under Kirk F, I still like them. I do not like their online fans or the fans that live in the Twin Cities, but I have no problem with the program or the Students I encountered in Iowa City during any visit.

Furthermore, I like the way Michigan State plays, but the fact is, Dantonio and the school do cut some corners with admissions and other matters. Not to an SEC, level, but Iowa runs a much cleaner program.

Change of heart. I want Iowa to win the B1G crown for the B1G West.

David Cobbs rooting for Michigan State it seem. He tweet that Iowa will lose by 14 plus.

I might pull for Iowa's Cinderella season, but dang those 1980 uniforms are so ugly!

Iowa winning to rep the B1G West would be tolerable. But I want the team that would win the NCAA Championship for the B1G. I think Sparty is that.

Doesn't appear that Iowa is being throttled like a lot of folks predicted

Exactly.

I didn't think there was anyway that Iowa even belonged on the same field as the football powerhouse otherwise known as Michigan States.

Lots of pretty clueless posters on this site when it comes to football. Embarrassing, really. Now it becomes clearer why Minnesota has been so awful at the sport for so long.

Lol. Still pretending to be a Gopher fan??

Epic game winning drive by Sparty. Almost feel bad for Iowa. Almost.

Probably the most ridiculous thing ever said on this site. Iowa did keep it closer than I expected...congrats on the loss.

As a gophers fan I haven't felt that good about a game since duke beat Wisconsin. If we can't win anything at least Wisconsin and Iowa can't either.
