USC will be the first game against team with an actual offense. If the D steps up, we have a chance. If they don't, we are going to get our brakes beat off because we are losing games now to QBs putting under double-digit passing yards. If USC goes for 250-300, I hate to see what the score will be.

It's not irrational it's quite rational.

USC is a good matchup for the Gophers. Probably the most pass-heavy team on the schedule.

Iowa and Michigan were bad matchups playing rock fight football and avoiding our top-notch pass D.

Missing half to potentially 3/4 of our starting secondary is not exactly putting our top notch pass d vibes

That’s one reason why it’s irrational.

Also when’s the last time we’ve upset a Top 15 team?

And USC is the worst run defense the team has played in 3 weeks

any word on the status of Justin Walley? Watching USC’s passing attack, it feels like we need him on the field to have a chance.
This is obviously a week old, but against Iowa he wasn’t moving around very well and had a brace on his leg. I’m a little concerned about his prognosis.

Badger and Hawkeye trolls voting for a loss.
No, I just voted logically, based on the result of the other Power 4 opponents this year.

Although I'm not 100% sure what I voted on because I'm not sure what👃means in this context.

Any word on Perich? I am sure that there is not, PJ is tight-lipped on injuries as we all know.

There are two aspects of the team that need to improve for the Gophers to beat USC.

The offensive line needs to play much better.

The silly penalties have to go away.

These are two areas in which Fleck's teams have excelled. This gives me hope that they will be addressed.

I would add turnovers to the list.

No rational reason why, I’m just feeling like we’re overdue for an irrational upset. The board needs it.

Your votes will be publicly displayed and cannot be changed , so only the true believers/insane can reap the glory when it happens.

Fleck, it’s this time -

Woo Frickin Hoo🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

I called this as one of the games to look forward to in the thread of the same name.

My wife has a keen sense of smell. As do you, evidently.

Are you part bloodhound, by chance?

I think teams with bad run defense are better matchups for this team

Michigan and Iowa are really tough matchups for this team, and they had a chance to win both…granted that chance went away earlier against Iowa.

Who has great run defenses left on the schedule?
Michigan - 8
Iowa - 17
USC - 80

Penn state - 9
Rutgers - 84
UCLA - 20
Maryland - 42
Wisconsin - 63
Illinois - 73

To me, this means that Penn state is obviously the toughest remaining matchup. But it also means the rest of these teams the gophers are going to be able to move the ball on.
UCLA is the only team with a rush defense playing at the level of Iowa and Michigan and Penn states….but they’re 115 against the pass and have an awful offense

Congrats to the guys who predicted an upset of USC. There were several of you in various threads who had the Gophs winning. I love you prescience and optimism. Well done!
