Check the coverage of Cam Newton, despite the fact that every coach with Carolina talks about what a smart football player he is and how much reading of the defense he does and has responsibility similar to Peyton Manning did in Indi people still say he is just a running QB who is really too stupid to play QB in the NFL. It's why people assume Jameis Winston and Teddy Bridgewater are running QB's like Mike Vick. Because all black QB's are just running athletes.

Sportsfan was right on part of why Jones struggles. OSU is built to be a running/running QB team. That's not who Cardale Jones is. He's more of a pocket guy. Meanwhile, OSUfan went straight to "nope, he's just another stupid black QB" I won't go so far as to say he's some huge racist, but that's a perspective on black QB's that should have died long, long ago.

You guys are idiots for calling me racist. This has ZERO to do with race. I have watched Jones all year, and all the times he played last year. I have seen him hold the ball countless times and make bad decisions, I can only say it's because of his mental ability rather than his physical throwing ability, because that is reality. He has the arm to throw the ball wherever he wants, yet often just doesn't get the ball out when and where he should. He will not be a success at the NFL level, that has nothing to do with his race, he just doesn't have the ability to get it done from the mental standpoint unless he makes incredible improvement, that is reality. He may be an intelligent young man, but a smart QB he is not because he often plays like a deer in the headlights. JT Barrett is a much better QB. Sorry for telling the truth!

And he doesn't run the zone read largely because he is HORRIBLE at making the right decision quickly. That is MENTAL, like it or not!!! My God, the man hesitated to hand the ball off to the running back on a designed RB run in the NC game last year, leading to a fumble. Again, he may be smart but football smart he is not!!!
 

Of course, I have high standards for what I want to see out of a QB. Barrett makes quick, good decisions. A lot of NFL QBs are very good at making good decisions very quickly. Compared to a lot of what I consider to be the better QBs, Jones is well below par. I've been frustrated with a lot of QBs, I was often aggravated by Craig Krenzel because I thought he was a mediocre passer, but he was white so I guess that doesn't fit your narrative.

Please allow me to clarify. Because I don't know you are your heart I said you are coming ACROSS as a terrible racist.

Look it's clear you don't know what you are talking about but that doesn't make you a racist....just ignorant.

If you would rather believe that a player who has never lost a game as a starter while leading his team to a national championship doesn't have the mental capacity to play the game....racist or ignorant are the only options.

Look at the bright side; you can learn from this and no longer be ignorant....unless of course you are stupid.....then there is no hope for you.

Will Jones be a good NFL QB? Probably not; Meyer does not develop NFL caliper QB's. Hence the reason Jones may be regressing and the reason why he should have went pro.

It's easy for you to call OSUfan a racist and laugh about it. You are black. If it's humor I don't see it. I was not impressed with Cardale this year either. I have only seen him play versus Minnesota. OSUfan
sees OSU play each week. It is possible for a black quarterback to struggle making decisions. Can we agree on that? The defense rests! It is also possible for a black quarterback to make great decisions.
It's possible Krenzel was a genius and horrible passer in the eyes of OSUfan... The same guy is complimenting Elliot and Barrett? Seems pretty irresponsible to me Sportsfan24? I'm aware of where you're coming from, I just think it's cheap theatre in this instance.

So I'm guessing what OSUfan said that makes him a racist in your eyes are these words? "Ultimately he is too slow mentally to be successful at the position, " Correct? And if I understand what you are saying is that the only conclusion you can come to is that OSUfan is a racist because of that? Correct? Therefore you are saying because Cardale is black this couldn't possibly be true? Is that correct?

I don't think you need to apologize. I appreciate your posts. Some people seem to have a hair trigger at the mention of racism, almost like it's no longer a real thing and can no longer be discussed. I like that you clarified you weren't calling OSU fan a racist, but calling attention to his use of code words that could be construed as racist. Whether it was actually the case in this instance, I don't know, but I have no problem with you making us actually consider the possibility. Also, sorry you got personally attacked, but I see that you can handle yourself just fine.
 


Those forever looking fore "code words" for reasons of real or perceived insult will have a rough time in life.

Yes, the rampant racism amongst fans, ADs, coaches, GMs conspiring to keep the best black players off the gridiron is a real problem. We are all guilty and didn't realize it. Thank you for drawing our attention to this.

There is truth Mitch playing with better talent around him would elevate his game.

I have never seen a QB with great stats (QB rating) on sub 500 team.
