Which player over or under-achieved this year? Breakdown

Great post overall. If you had seen Colt in person for CSU, you would never compare EE to him. Colt was a great post scorer and rebounder who had cement feet on defense but he played hard. EE is more agile but he will never score 20 points in his career.
Austin dissappointed me for a majority of the season.
I still think Buggs should play more. I have yet to see what everyone is complaining about. Biggest gripe is someone has pointed out where he should be on defense or offense? He has the build of a stretch 4. Superb length and a very good athlete. Obviously needs to get stronger so he can box out but his reach really bothers teams.
Mo Walker could be on of the top 3 returning post scorers in the B1G next year (Hammonds, Vanleh).
As far as lateral quickness goes, a player can work at it and maybe gain 5-10% improvement, but you are either born with it or your not.

Mo improved greatly on defense during the course of the season. By the end he was guarding people pretty well, but the guys with good size and quickness like Hayes were too much for him (although Hayes makes a lot of people look bad). If he dedicates himself to improvement over the off season like he dedicated himself to losing weight last off season, he can take that next step.

I agree, but I was still really dissapointed the way another 250lbs guy (Hayes) went past him with ease.

Hayes is one of the quickest, especially laterally, 240+ lb people you will see. He is a very tough match up and will be a starter and all-conference type player next season. Mo is not a good athlete, but he has a ton of skills. IF Martin is as good, as athletic, and strong as advertised he would be a good pf to have next to MO, with King playing with EE, as EE excells on defense and the boards. Mo is a center and Hayes a short pf.

I think the whole damn team underchieved. The only bright spot was Mathieu and he is a turnover machine. I never bought in to the preseason speculation that this team was a bottom feeder. They really only lost Mbakwe and Williams and they were both extremely flawed. I actually think this team was deeper than last year's and more talented, Pitino is very green and was outcoached more times than not. He may turn in to a great coach, but if his name wasn't Pitino we would seriously be considering if he was the right hire. Next year's team is going to be even worse and an NIT birth in '15 would be a success.
