Before Hummel's injury, I think Purdue was the consensus team to do the best in the NCAAs. But since the injury, it really seems to be up in the air.

We haven't seen much of Purdue since the injury, but in the Gopher game, they were clearly a different team without him.

I would now boil it down to Mich St and Ohio St for who is going to go the furthest. I think Ohio St will do well in the 1st games of the weekends, but will struggle in the second games with their limited (almost none) depth. I really haven't been impressed with Mich St this year, but they do typically come to play during the tournament. There has usually been a team in the Big Ten that I have had a good feeling that was gonna go the furthest in the tourney, but with Hummel out now, I have no idea who will go the furthest. What do others think?

My $ has to be on MSU - Izzo is fantastic tournament coach, maybe the best. He has a lot of talent, and they haven't had the best month, but his teams usually peak in March when they need to. I still think Purdue will do well even without Hummel - they have nice plays, their fundamentals are good (like their crisp passing), talent and drive. I just haven't been that impressed with OSU.

I also think WI will do pretty well in the tourney - it depends on what kind of seed they get though.

Like you mentioned, depth could limit Ohio State's success. Their starting lineup is about as talented as any teams in the country and I don't know who I would want leading my team more than Evan Turner, but fatigue could become a problem eventually as could foul trouble and potential injuries, even if they're minor. With Michigan State's superior depth and the fact that Izzo usually seems to get them going during the tournament, I would probably have to go with MSU. Hopefully it ends up being the Gophers though. ;)

Tubby 11th and 2nd, respectively.

Ohio State...They have good shooters in Buford and Diebler, and of course there is Turner.

I doubt the Big Ten gets more than one Elite 8 team, probably MSU, maybe OSU.

I am happy to be reminded I was smart enough to say Michigan State!

Too bad my brackets were not filled out on the 1 day I showed some sense.

As another person that choose MSU, I think it's even more impressive that we chose MSU a month ago, when they had just lost 4 games in February. That's looking at the body of work - at least that's what I'll go with since we were right ;)
