Hoke, but I think Brandon goes first.

Beckman and Hoke are toast it is just a matter of when at this point. Not totally sold that Wilson gets the axe this year. As for Brandon that is an interesting wild card to the whole deal because it would seem fairly likely that he is also out the door here at some point so the order they do things will be interesting because it would make a lot of sense to get the new AD hired before going after a new coach.

This. Never understood the Beckman hire. Hoke's problems puzzle me somewhat. He had a pretty solid resume as a head coach before he hit Ann Arbor.

Beckman....only because I think Michigan beats Penn State tonight which will buy Hoke the rest of the season.

You mean Tim Beckman is still a head coach?

Its close between Brewster and hoke. But, I think Brewster goes first. Er, uh, I mean Beckman.

why not Pelini? - his antics got to be running thin in Lincoln

Nightmarish thought: Bulima gets sh@t canned by the Hogs and ends up with the Fighting Illini.

On the National level seems the Big 10 make take a back seat in some college coaches being fired.

You will be surprised by this list, and it includes two wild cards.

That list is a joke. There is no chance Saban will ever be fired. Kiffin may be gone by the end of the year, but that's only because he's annoying and Bama doesn't have their usual 5 star talent at QB. Bobby Hauck, who has been on the hot seat for 3 straight years, beat Fresno St last night in a big win for UNLV. And I still wouldn't fire Wilson if I was Indiana. Not sure what better guy you are going to get and at least Wilson has a kick butt offense. I might go check out the Hoosier bored to see if they have strong opinions.

Beckman. Illinois has no excuse for being this terrible.

They'd be stupid to fire him. Despite the record their team looks to be a lot better this year. They're essentially two plays away from being 5-1....and 5-1 would have them as top 10 in the country. Eventually they have to start making those two plays, but considering how bad they were under John l smith, how bad it ended under petrino, and how tough that division is....they'd be stupid not to give him another year.

I have no doubt they will give him more time. If you make a switch now, and find an up tempo coach, you are basically sacrificing another 3 years before they have the right players to play in it. Arkansas needs to improve on defense and get more overall play makers. Being it is the SEC, I don't see any reason they can't do that.

After emerging from the dumpster fire he stoked around himself at the end of last season you can't consider him to be on the hot seat this year without some kind of epic collapse or meltdown.

Keep in mind this is Nebraska, who doesn't bat an eye at firing a coach after a 10 win season.

How there can be 32 "FBS" coaches that are considered in a colder seat than Jerry Kill is a little puzzling.

Can someone explain to me how Nick Saban has the hottest seat in the country?

No, because it's a farce. This isn't the strongest Alabama team ever, but it's absurd to think he would be fired. So it's clearly a joke.

I've followed 'Coaches Hot Seat' for years they are subject to overreact to a bad loss. Saban will drop down in a couple of weeks but nearly losing to Arkansas will delay that a bit.

Solich was put on notice at the beginning of that season by a hostile Athletic Director eager to clean house and build his own legacy. In contrast, after Pelini's November meltdown the current Athletic Director was quick to put out a statement supporting him. Then the bowl win and Abdullah returning for another year made it clear he was secure for a while. He's even been more restrained this year.

Buffalo. One of Baylor's 3 impressive nonconference opponents, joining SMU and Northwestern State.

Agreed. Baylor did nothing this past weekend to suggest they are a top 5 team. I think OU will have their number.

I think had MI lost to PSU we'd be talking about who will be the interim coach at MI. I really thought that game was a must win to remain employed, especially as it was before a bye week (perfect time to put an interim coach in place). I think that if they continue to struggle that it will be a toss up on whether Brandon is fired for not firing Hoke and then Hoke is fired, or whether Brandon pulls the trigger to try to save his own job. Unless MI goes on a winning streak to finish the year, I don't see how Hoke survives there.

I think Illinois has become so used to losing that Beckman doesn't get fired until after the season. What are they going to do, promote Bill Cubit (OC) to coach? Interesting side note - Joe Salem's son Tim is their Special Teams Coordinator.

Brings up an interesting opportunity - Illinois passed on Brewster when they hired Zook. Brewster has done well at MS St and FSU and is an alumnus. Do they consider him for head coach?

He played for Minnesota, briefly, I believe?
