Where would Tanner be if Sanford was never here?

Where would Tanner be with KC the whole time?

I kind of look at the question in the opposite...where would Sanford be if he didnt have Morgan???? Sanford would be out of coaching at this level by now, credit to Morgan, he is in a much healthier relationship now and has been able to overcome the poison of Sanford.

Their QB was just a good HS player but there are plenty of examples in state of teams he would not have started at QB. LN in ‘11 when Trey Heid was a senior I’ll throw that one out there for one. Plenty others.
I’ll give you that one. Tanner being 12 years old at the time.

If we’re talking about NFL QBs there have been plenty of “weak”-armed QBs. What is the baseline necessary deep range, 60 yards? Can Morgan throw it 60 yards? I’d say yes. Beyond that accuracy, anticipation, release, mobility, and bus factor/height.

A cannon is not necessary for success, but maybe anticipation and accuracy are, flight time on deep outs versus elite DBs, etc. Mobility for shorter QBs? The ball has to be out of the throwing hand within what, about 2-3 seconds to avoid getting sacked or pressured. Does it matter if a QB can throw it 80 yards when it’s rare to have the time to connect with a receiver going that deep.

In summary, I wouldn’t say it’s impossible for Morgan to at least get a look. I recall a guy named Kellen Moore was probably even more limp-armed and played in the NFL because he did everything else pretty well. Who are some other weak-armed QBs.
Its not just the arm its a combination of things. It would be foolish to think weak armed qbs cant make it look at peyton manning at the end of his career. Its a combination of things like the offense we run, off script play making, getting through progressions, mobility and height, velocity which is more important than how far you can throw a ball. With that said Tanner is a good college QB for us and thats ok. Hes like Zach Tyrell PJs QB at Western Michigan, he was cut 3 days into training camp and had much better numbers vs easier competition at Western than morgan.

I don’t see a lot of college or NFL QBs that are great at consistently going through progressions. As far as off script playmaking Morgan has made all kinds of plays and scrambles when needed. He’s been put in some horrible positions at times with protection, and overall offensive and passing construction, scheme, execution the last few years. I don’t see any QB from any program putting up good passing numbers with what we saw last year. JMHO.

His velocity is fine. Height, yep. Sure, there are better QBs.

Every legit nfl starter consitently goes through progressions so im not sure what you mean by that. I disagree I don't think tanner is athletic enough. Protection is on the QB unless the O line whiff blocks but O line has been one of our teams strengths. I would agree with you that our passing schemes arent always great. His velocity is limited he stuggles ripping the ball outside the numbers at times

You seem to be arguing with success. Even big name college QBs are accused of “struggling to go through progressions”.

Your hate is pretty bizarre and doesn’t align with what we see on the field, IMO.
