Why does he care if gopherholers watch his games if he chooses Oregon? I'm sure his family and friends will take naps during the day so they can stay up and watch.

PAC 12 is not available on Direct TV in my area, FWIW. I live in the Twin Cities.

Green was on the Gopher campus tonight to get a final pitch from Kill.....

Jerry closes the door late and he picks the Gophers at 8am tomorrow morning. At least that's what I'm hoping for!

If Seth Green is as good as people believe and can turn a team into a contender he won't be sitting behind anyone on a depth chart no matter what school he chooses.

The Ducks already have a higher rated dual threat QB signed. Do we assume that he's not that good?

Go Gophers!!

Or Green was there out of respect for Kill, to thank him, and to explain his decision to go to Oregon in person before announcing publicly.

This is my thought.. came to campus for one last look, let the coaches push him, and then thanked them for everything

This.

O well. You win some you lose some. Dak Prescott was a 2*. Demry Croft has a good chance to be successful.

Oh well. You can't blame the kid. Oregon does a great job of developing their QBs in a fun system. He'll get to put up "video game" numbers for a premier program. I love Coach Kill, but we have struggled at the QB position, hard to blame a kid with 1 shot at the NFL going this route.

That said, we are going to be completely fine without him.

It would be great if I was shocked when he picks up that Gopher hat and puts it on. The problem is that isn't happening. He will pick Oregon and he will head out West where most of the state will forget about him. Would be great to be shocked by his choice but in the end I won't be.

Trying to think of one of these great Oregon QB's that have developed into great NFL QB's. Dan Fouts!

Assume he is good but it doesn't mean the lower ranked player will never see the field. There is a thing called competition.

That's not really fair. That's an impossible standard.

Since 1984-
Chris Miller - 12 year NFL career
Bill Musgrave - 8 year NFL career
Tony Graziani - 11 year NFL career
Akili Smith - 6 year NFL career
AJ Feeley - 10 year NFL career
Joey Harrington - 7 year NFL career
Kellen Clemens - 9 year NFL career (still playing)
Dennis Dixon - 6 year NFL career (still playing)
Mariota - will be a 1st round draft pick

In the last 30 years, all but 3 of their starting QBs went on to have legitimate NFL careers.

But the rest of the country doesn't care about Oregon. They're never on TV. /s

How rare is it for a top player to commit as a junior?

I've never seen Green play. I'm sure he's talented , especially with the offers he's received.

The hat thing has bugged me for years. It's not sour grapes either. Years ago, when the Rick (Rickert) chose Minnesota over Arizona with his hat switch, I thought it was disrespectful and grandstanding. It may be petty, but it was always hard for me to embrace Rickert, even though he chose the Gophers.

I get the whole spotlight thing. I'm glad the kid can have his day. In this case, I don't know if he just had three hats out there, or it was a dramatic switcheroo. I just think that parents and guardians surrounding the decision should offer better advice.

Clint Brewster not a fan.

Jason Kapsner...didn't play a snap at Michigan...would have started for the Gophs

He had no regrets not going to the Gophers. Dude bleeds Maize and Blue. Not to mention he got a hall of famer qb to be in his wedding party.

Advice like he should drive to campus the night before to tell Jerry Kill face to face what his decision was?

It's a fun thing for a 16-17 year old kid. His friends, teammates, coaches, family, faculty are around. His hard work paid off. It's good pub for the school he picks.

**Edit: Of course, I'm the idiot for clicking on any of these threads when a kid leaves the state. Vent away
