I feel like a lot of the stations try to have a coach as one of the commentators. Lee Corso on College Gameday, Gene Cizek was with SEC Network for a long time until this last season, PAC-12 Network has Nigel Burton and the ACC Network has Mark Richt.

I think it makes sense, but I have to agree, I don't think Gerry is the best analyst out there. He's been covering Big Ten sports since 2007, so it's not like he doesn't have anything meaningful to say, but a newer voice would be welcome.
