Late 80's, when MIAC used to play a round of games there to end the season. I recall the turf being very spongy but also very easy to cause rug burns.Did anyone ever walk on or play on the old Metrodome turf? It felt like a thin layer of carpet over concrete. My high school band did a half time show the Bud Grant returned to coach the team . It was the biggest moment of my life up until then.
In terms of new turf at the bank, I like the current field layout and the current end zones. I do like some of the ideas I have seen here - to change the font on the field numbers, add colored outlines to the numbers, etc. Gotta leave the block "M" at midfield for the "brand" although I wouldn't mind seeing Goldy in the end zone. If you are going to alternate shades of green every 10 yards, make it subtle (I like the understated contrast between greens currently). I don't like to even joke about a colored field. End zones are fine, but color the entire field and there is no way to yell "bush league" more loudly.
