I don't ever remember it being this bad. Are they lonesome, depressed, or just extreme paranoia? I guess when you're within the confines of cultural disasters like Iowa and Wisconsin you seek a happier place. Maybe we should cue up little Gopher pacifiers to ease their restlessness. It would also take care of the thumb sucking. I feel like we've become "Mr Rogers" neighborhood to our little trolls from the South and East.

Honestly, I was thinking there were a lot less trolls than usual, and a few more rational Iowa posters than usual as well.

Yeah I don't know what ruppert is talking about but I guess that is a pretty normal thing.

I agree, some of the Hawkeye posters actually want to discuss not troll for once.

#paranoid

I think ruppertflywheel needs medication. Very hateful person.

They come here to get smart. :)

For me, that's pretty much on point, Dr.Don.
As I live in the Twin Cities, I have a bunch of friends and coworkers who are Gopher fans. In order for me to talk college football (and basketball) with them and to make it a decent conversation, I should at least be respectful and have some familiarity with what's going on with their favorite squad. That's why I watch the Gopher games each weekend and check out the conversations on GopherHole.

It's mighty decent of you all to tolerate a hated enemy lurker like me on your site. :)

I could stop and instead get all my Golden Gopher news and the pulse of the Minnesota programs from the likes of Reusse and Souhan.

You sound like a closet gopher fan.

I'm an Iowa alum who is now primarily a Gopher fan. I've lived up here for most of this century, spent enough years being a die hard Hawkeye fan, and decided about four years ago that I felt more like following the Gophers at this point in my life.

However, I would disagree that this board is any better than an Iowa board I go to from time to time. Because that board is much larger, there is more diversity of viewpoints.

Badger fans are among the lowest scum on the planet. They are unsophisticated and think they have a good athletic program when for decades they sucked. They got lucky in that Donna Shalayla quickly figured out having a good football and basketball program might be a good thing.

Badger fans are dumb. They think they have historically great programs when in fact they never even got respectable until 1995 in both programs.

Gotta say there has been a lot of rational Hawkeyes. Only the truly delusional fans thinks that their schedule has been tough.

That is weird to me. I don't think i could ever cheer against my alma matter.

You make me laugh Ralph. Thanks.

You know, I hate Wisconsin as much as the next guy, but it is time to put this old saw to bed. 1995 was a generation ago. The Sophmore class in Madison has pretty much known Badger success since they popped into the world. I was born in 1967, and the Gopher glory days preceded all of my memories. They are now TWO generations ago.

It's like poking Packer fans with Don Majkowski, and forgetting all about Favre and Rogers since him.

He's not poking Badger fans. He's trying to pretend he's a Gopher fan.

Then props to Ralph! If all he is doing is trolling a rivals' message board, I admire the commitment to his craft. He has a lot of posts here.

I'm pushing 60, have lived in five states, didn't grow up in Iowa, and haven't lived in Iowa since the eighties. What can I say? Some people are capable of discovering new interests and entertainment and others aren't.

A Wisconsin fan, born in Minnesota and living in Iowa. I don't have the enmity for Minnesota that many have, but I do hate losing to them in FB and BB. I can't think of anyone that Iowa would play where I would cheer for Iowa. Living among them can do that to a person.

Hoping for a Gopher win tomorrow.

I now regret defending you on the thread about Claeys' hiring. So let me see if I can follow your "logic." Because Wisconsin was neither a football nor basketball power for decades, their fans are not justified in believing those programs are good now? If I were you, I wouldn't be calling anyone else "dumb."

Having said that, I do wonder about their future basketball success after Ryan retires. So often successful eras can be coach specific.
