Colorado didn't roll out of bed and decide to become Alabama...come on man. I'm not saying they're getting nothing, but it's significantly less than what they could be making at a helmet school. And they had those offers and turned them down to play for Deion.

Colorado isn't paying their players more than TCU was last week, or Nebraska this week.

I'm sure Coach Prime's players are well compensated for their services.

In the wild west that is college football right now it is the perfect time for a coach like Deion to come on the scene where he can use his larger than life personality and deep pockets and connections to attract top talent from all over to quickly improve the program.

My big curiosity with Colorado at this point is what happens when they face adversity for the first time. Will they hold together or will they implode? Should make for some great theater.

It was also heavy on QB where only one can play at a time. Yeah, the Wisconsin transfer haul was overblown.

Adversity in the form of a loss or multiple losses, injuries, off the field issues, stuff like that.

Right now they are on top of the world and people are acting like they have fully arrived already. Maybe they have, or maybe the knocked off an overrated TCU team.

How they respond when things go wrong will be very interesting to watch.

Colorado doesn't have deep pockets. Where are they getting all this money? The AD said when they offered Deion his contract, that they don't even have the money to pay it and that they'll have to figure it out as they go.

People continue to vastly overrate how much NIL money players are making outside of the helmet schools.

We can go back and forth on this all day but again, I would be shocked to find out that Coach Prime's players are not being well compensated.
 



I didn't read the whole thread but I would say things are status quo after week 1 in Big Ten.

We didn't learn anything that would significantly change projections on either the conference or the Gophers. Maybe downgrade Ohio State a tick because it doesn't look like the transition to the next 5* QB throwing to a WR room that would make half the NFL jealous is going to work immediately.

Sure, my point was they didn’t have any proven transfers coming in at WR. Green was the closest thing to that. So I didn’t understand the way they were hyping their transfers so much.

This. Of course we hear the headlines about these six/seven figure deals that players are getting, but those are still the exception rather than the rule.

Would agree that week 1 really didn't change much from the preseason in terms of perception of teams. Ohio State is getting dinged some but they had a conference game so I chalk that up more to first game weirdness and I am betting they will get the offense figured out and humming. Too many weapons for them not to.

Some interesting matchups involving West teams in week 2 that should start to give us a better feel for where those teams are at.

Yeah, hopefully we have a stress free weekend and the rest all get pushed on the road against power 5 teams. Wisconsin and Iowa are slight favorites the rest a slight underdogs so could be some really close games.

These should all be pretty good games. If anyone dominates it would be noteworthy.

But, coming from behind to beat a B1G team feels better than the week 1 results for pretty much every other West team and most of the East too, for that matter.

Agreed! We got one B1G West win against what will probably be a decent P5 program and no one else did. I'll take it! Victory was never guaranteed. One down, 8 more B1G games to go. I'd rather learn from a win than a loss.
