What, if anything, happens now to Brady Hoke?

He should be fired not only for a terrible record going back a year or so, but for keeping a seriously injured QB in when he was obviously in distress and not functioning anyway.

Totally agree with you on this. There was no excuse for keeping that QB in the game when he was injured and then making him re-enter the game for a play when Gardner went out. Wonder how the Michigan Board of Regents will react to all this.

Let's see. The #1 QB can't walk straight. The #2 has been in the game for more than 10 seconds. The #3 isn't responsible for knowing this, but rather the head coach should stop what he's doing and make sure #3 knows where his helmet is, in case he needs to come into the game for some reason?

Not a head coach. Some positional coach on the sidelines. I thought they'd just run the wildcat to a RB. They could have also called timeout and he could have come back in the game. Not sure why they didn't do that.

The seat is sizzling, and it will not get any better. He has games at Rutgers, Penn State at Home, at MSU, Home to Indiana, at Northwestern, and at OSU.
They might win only two of those games. And if the AD has any clue he is recruiting tonight.

Some of the stories I have seen say the AD may himself be on the hot seat....I don't think he is all that well liked out there.

Michigan fires him on Monday.

Jim Harbaugh leaves San Francisco amid turmoil with ownership and the front office and gets paid $8+ million a year to coach the Wolverines.

This may happen, but not on Monday. In December/January.

Like sparlimb said...position coach. Who do you think is responsible for the organization, discipline, communication
of that happening. It's on the head coach. If he is a leader he is accountable for that. That instance is not why he should be fired. Winning and losing is a lot of little things. There were many occurrences that demonstrated Hoke has holes in organization, discipline, communication and if he can't get those right then he needs to make better decisions to cover his faults up and he was even worse at that all day too.
And if he knows the personality of QB#3, as a coach paying attention would, then ya he had plays prior to the helmet coming off. They were taking dang near a minute off the clock each play...it wouldn't be unheard of to tell his manager to go get him #3 QB to stand next to him and to mentally prepare him to focus. Good coaching is coaching a few plays ahead. You anticipate things. You prepare for things that might or might not happen...but you think about it in advance. People next up is pretty basic.

Hoke said in his presser that he didn't notice that Morris was "wobbly".

Michigan should fire their AD, Dave Brandon.

I think it may be a mistake to fire Hoke. Not because he is great, but more so because if the next coach does not work fast, than this will turn catastrophic. Failures by two coaches in a row will quickly spiral into a decade.... especially troubling is the State of Michigan isn't exactly a hotbed for economic growth, nor attractive prospects to raise Maize and Blue blooded children. A new coach, a new gimmick, old recruits in a new system. Sounds like the recipe for decline. It won't be long before the Mystique goes with it.

That hasn't seemed to bother Michigan State, which has not only become a conference power but also a player on the national level.

Besides, all we've been hearing every year from recruiting geeks like Tom Luginbill and Tom Lemming is that Michigan has top-10 recruiting classes. Did those blue-chippers all of a sudden become poor players?

Great point +1 i didn't put it in that context

I simply can't believe that Gardner is not the starting QB. He's always given us headaches and thank goodness Hoke stuck with Morris. Don't know if Gardner would have made the difference in winning instead of losing for them, but it would have likely been a closer game. Can't say enough about what Claeys has done with our defense.
