What grade would you give the Gophers 2013 recruiting class?
Seems like about as good of a class as you could hope for without any 4*'s. So I went with B-/C+.
It is pretty clear that Coach Kill's recruiting isn't going to lead to landing the big recruits (4 or 5 star recruits). We have to trust that he is able to identify kids that he can coach up.
On paper, Kill's recruiting classes look terrible. In Big 10 play Coach Kill's performance has been pretty terrible. Until we start seeing this lead to the program being competitive in the Big 10, and if his classes are predominantly 2 and 3 star recruits, I won't rank his classes any greater than a C-.

By this measure, six out of 12 B1G classes shouldn't be ranked greater than a C- this year. Wisconsin, Northwestern, Iowa, Minnesota, Purdue and Illinois all have an average star rating (on Rivals) of < 3. Penn State and Indiana are at a 3 average, exactly. That's fair if that's your measure for grading, but considering our main competition our class isn't some crazy outlier.
When ESPN, Rivals, Scout and 247Sports consider the class to be the lowest or one of the lowest ranked classes in the conference don't see how a grade higher than a C could be given.
I didn't vote in the poll, because there wasn't a category for "I Don't Know."
Not trying to be a smart-a** - I honestly don't know. No offense, but people on the internet read a few articles, watch some edited highlight tapes, and form an opinion about 17 and 18-yr old athletes. There are so many variables and intangibles that go into becoming a successful athlete. The measurables are great, but I want to know what makes a player tick.....is he a good student.....is he coachable......does he hang out with questionable friends.....? Hopefully, the coaches doing the recruiting have done their due diligence, and can evaluate the recruits to a much greater degree than even the most knowledgeable fan.
My bottom line: we won't know about this year's recruiting class for at least 2 or 3 years. For a few recruits, we may be able to make a quicker evaluation - if a kid is really good, he'll stand out early. And if a kid is really Not good, he'll also stand out. We live in an age of instant information, and we want to make instant judgements about everything, but sometimes, that's just not possible.
And you are the glass of cheer on a fun day.
I don't believe they have landed a single 4 star recruit or higher. Just a bunch of the usual 2 and 3's...
As usual, recruiting class ranked dead last in Big Ten
ESPN is ranking Minnesota 12th in the Big Ten
Lol at lumping Wisconsin in with Ohio State and MichiganLets just face it, the gophers will never be good at football. Might have a couple good years here and there but we will never be the Ohio state, Michigan or Wisconsin like people want or think
Nobody wants to play here considering the history. If I were a prospect I'd want to go to winning, estabolished programs.
It would of been nice to get that 4 star DB dorm Tartan instead of letting him slip off to Sconi
According to espn, this dude [Berkley Edwards] runs a 4.6 40. In what division is that speedy? Have we finally tapped out and gone to the FCS?
All the negativity in this town sucks. (Minnesota Gophers likes this)
I have no idea how to rate it. Everyone gave the 2008 class an "A" and how did that turn out? I'll judge the results on the field.
Why? I'm glad we got those players; I always look at a kids' offer sheet more than his * rating, but we are talking about Missouri and K-State here. Now, Campbell reportedly had some much bigger offers (Texas) that I'm more impressed by.Stealing Kids away from programs like Missouri (SEC) and K-State (Big 12) is a big deal for me.

That's progress, but last years' class was really reaching for guys near the end.Only 6 players in this class lacked an offer from another BCS conf team. Last years class had 16 players that lacked offers from bcs teams. Year before that had 11.
