I am no longer surprised by what constituted an "A" by many GopherHole posters. I personally went with a "B" largely on the basis of having both border rival games at home this year and the Gophers losing both of them (and by double digits both times). It was a nice step forward season to me, but it was frustrating to get the "their work is done, great job" vibe once the team beat PSU to reach 4-2 in the conference and even more so after losing to Wisconsin. Their seemed to be no expectations, no real push to do more with the failures of the last two games being overlooked in a way that was somewhat reminiscent of last year after beating Illinois to get bowl eligible. I am not saying the team felt this way, but the public patting on the back for a successful season before it's over is just bizarre.
Overall, you have to be pleased with the record and the improvements this team has made defensively. Obviously, their is a lot of work to be done on the offensive side of the ball before next season kicks off.
