I like this roster, and I’m an optimist. If Kordel can be as good or better than healthy Liam Robbins, its a win. Kordel played 2 years of professional ball, is bigger, and has been practicing with a decent program last year. As said previously, these guys out of HS would have been a terrific class! I think the players are going to be fan favorites- Grove dishing passes and hustling, Groves defending and creating, Evans comfortable finding spots, Kordel owning paint, JCJ stretching teams, Asuma stepping up into a greater role, Kai finding his touch and comfort on the court, Palmer defending like Langston and contributing offensively, Grady the shooting ace in the hole, and Nolen Anderson getting meaningful minutes. Mpoyi won’t be lost on the bench, as he develops into an Oturu prospect (?). I see MN now has an interior presence, and we have at least 8 guys led by Durkin that can shoot 3’s. Tomes is unknown how he will contribute this year if at all. He won’t get the volume shots he’s used to in HS.
There is no reason to believe MN with fresh bodies will be worse defensively, man-to-man mixing in some zone. Will be able to pressure with fresh legs. The Big Ten will be better than last year, so 10 wins would be good imo.
