Whalen to miss Rutgers game due to appendectomy

Per release from University of Minnesota:

Lindsay Whalen had successful, emergency appendectomy surgery on Tuesday evening. She is recovering and will not coach the Gophers on Thursday at Rutgers. Carly Thibault-DuDonis will serve as Minnesota's acting head coach at Rutgers. Coach Whalen's status will be updated prior to Minnesota's home game against Maryland on Sunday.

Gophers coach Lindsay Whalen has emergency appendectomy, will miss Rutgers game

Associate head coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis will coach the team against the Scarlet Knights on Thursday.

Whalen had been feeling unwell since early in the week. She was unavailable to the media Tuesday as she was seeing a doctor. Subsequently surgery was required.

Gophers coach Whalen back at practice after emergency surgery last week

Lindsay Whalen missed the last two Gophers games due to having an emergency appendectomy last week. She is now back and spoke after practice on Tuesday.
