Hey has anyone heard an update on Peter Westerhaus? It was reported that a boulder fell on him while in the Grand Canyon and he required 50 stitches.:confused:
 

Who or what reported this? A player gets crushed by a boulder (seriously?) and there's no link or even a tweet?

Quite possibly the most ridiculous post i've ever read here, and that includes the Badger fan who posted how he was wrestling with his gender identity issues.

Confirmed: Mr. Football, Peter Westerhaus, suffered a facial injury in an accident. Jerry Kill is aware. More details to come. #Gophers

Re: Peter W. - Had to get a good amount of stitches. But the fact he's at school today is encouraging.

If you have a deep laceration in your face...even if its not real big...they use a ton of stitches to close it so that the scar is not real big...so 50 isn't a huge number if it was deep...I had a cut on my chin that took 30 stitches becasue it went to the bone...but was only about an inch long...a cut the same size on my hand took 8...

I don't think that I posted that it "chrushed" a player. And it was an inquiry type post, you know one where you are trying to gather information.. just like what was in the responding posts. And for those posts I thank you!;)

Apology for what? I didn't accuse the Op of making the story up or lying about anything. He said it was "reported", but neglected to say who it was reported by, or where it was reported, or even when it was reported. Without those basic details the whole thing sounded absurd. Forgive me for questioning such a thing.
 



The OP was asking a QUESTION! You ripped him for not having enough information (despite the fact he was asking a question) and added "Quite possibly the most ridiculous post i've ever read here" as a cherry on top. But hey, you didn't accuse him of lying so I guess all is well. You also fabricated/introduced a new word into the description - "Crushed," which totally departed from anything the OP was asking about.

After "the most ridiculous post" you have ever read turned out to be a legit question about a legit situation, you continued to clutch your ship railing as it slipped beneath the waves.

If none of this resonates with you... so be it. I'll sleep fine tonight.

You said it was 'the most ridiculous post I've ever read', but you didn't accuse him of making it up or lying?? He also didn't say anything about being 'crushed' by a boulder, you did. He said one fell on him. There's a bit of a difference.

The OP asked if Westerhaus was okay, then followed with a statement saying it was reported that a boulder fell on him, providing no source elaborating e on what he was even talking about.

The story itself, coupled with the lack of a source is what was ridiculous. As far as fabricating (i'm a metal fabricator so sue me)...crushed, fell, smothered, rolled after him like the Temple of Doom, it's irrelevant to me. Again, what was ridiculous was the story and lack of sources, not the OP's inquiry in itself. Clutching to my ship? I assure you, i'm not as outraged as you are over this.

And judging by your use of caps and exclamations I really don't think you are going to sleep fine tonight if it's bothering you this much. Christ.

Can someone change the thread title to "Schnauzer hurt over message board post"?

Everyone knows that its proper form on internet message boards to footnote every statement that one makes.
 


I'm with Kuato that the OP should have provided some/any information on where it was reported. When I first saw this, before anyone had responded to it, I did a news search for it, and came up empty, therefore I figured it was a rumor, or a ridiculous rumor if you prefer.

The bitching and moaning are over the top. Just move along.

I still think Kavuto owes the guy an apology. Admitting you have made a mistake is part of being an adult. The people that suceed in life are the ones that can admit they have made a mistake and move on. You jumped the gun, just say you messed up and get it over with. Quit being such a wuss.
 


Incredibly easy kid to root for... his coach, Dave Hopkins, is also a great person.

I know you are surprised to see this post. No, I am not leaving this site. Though, I am sure my behavior has been leading you to believe otherwise. I am very sorry, northerngopher. I am sorry that I have not been giving you time. I am sorry for dumping all the posting pressures on you. I am sorry for taking you for granted. I am sorry for the yelling and the fights. But most importantly, my friend, I am sorry, for not showing you how much I love your thread, lately.

Earlier today, I heard you cry in the bathroom. It made my heart break. I promised you the joys and comforts of this message board, when I signed the terms of service. But, I guess, I lost my way a bit. The work pressures and my boss have been driving me insane. I need you guys through all this. Gopherhole is my strength, my love. I promise to improve. Though it might take sometime, I hope you will be patient with your ol' friend Kuato.

Northerngopher and all of Gopherhole, I really am sorry, and I hope you understand that I feel terrible for putting you through so much pain. I can't stand to see the tears in your eyes, and I feel horrible for causing them. Please forgive me my friends. I promise to improve, and soon.

I can't say much more, but I am sure you know what's in my heart. You know my every post, my each keystroke. Let's mend this together. Let's make it what is was.

I would like to put this regrettable experience behind me. Please accept this poem as a token of my utmost sincerity to all Gopherholers.
