Went down the YouTube rabbit hole and found this game - Gophers v Indiana 2002

It now looks so weird with the 3 point line being so close. That Bauer 3 pointer at the 15 minute mark of the video seemed such a short shot.

Rick Rickert, wow that was a wild recruitment. Dude could fill buckets, would have been in The Rafters if he stayed 4 years.

Go Gophers!!
He was so good. I think people forget because he left early and didn't make it in the NBA.

This team had so many good players. Biggest What If team of my lifetime, for what they could have done and what it could have led to...

The biggest “what if” in my lifetime (or as my Dad always says: “just think!”) is the team that could have been in 1975-76. Losing Olberding and Landsberger when Musselman bailed took two stars from what likely would have been Big Ten and national title contenders.

Michael Thompson
Ray Williams
Flip Saunders
Osborne Lockhart
Dave Winey

I recently watched a documentary on the "Iceman", George Gervin, and there was Mark Olberding celebrating an ABA championship with San Antonio.

Great fun to watch the game—thank you for posting—the mild struggles against the Indiana press were a premonition to the disaster which befell the team in the last three minutes of the Illinois game. Always wonder if the 2002 team had made the NCAA tournament in Monson’s third year (2000: probation; 2001: NIT; 2002: NCAA) right-on-schedule if the trajectory of his Minnesota coaching experience would have changed. Egad—in consecutive calendar years we had the Illinois basketball and Michigan football collapses. Sigh—it’s hard to be a Gopher fan.
