The Michigan State loss seems less harmful than feared to the Gophers' NCAA hosting chances. If I'm reading the various bracketologies correctly (if wrong, please point out), ESPN currently has the Gophers as the # 17 team (a 5 seed 1 spot from hosting), CBS currently has the Gophers as the # 16 team (a 4 seed and hosting), and Autumn Johnson of NCAA/BTN etc. currently has the Gophers as the # 18 team (a 5 seed and 2 spots from hosting).

Gophers actually climbed to #18 in The Athletic New York Times power index. Maybe there was a week lag in going to.press.

Michigan State loss was largely driven by shooting slumps. Bad but not structural team issues.

The win streak helped.

Charlie Crème ESPN, still at 5 playing in Kentucky I believe. OSU and MSU also at 4 seeds.

We own the tie-breaker, but if we don't win Sunday, it doesn't matter what happens in the other games, as someone will pass us into 4th.
I wonder if the poster means if Ohio States would lose again it might make them fall off the 4 seed line in the bracketology. Not sure.

Need OSU to lose and Gophsrs to win Saturday.
ESPN bracketology has MSU # 13, OSU # 14, Oklahoma # 15, Kentucky # 16, and Minnesota # 17.

Lots of ways to get to # 16. Beat Illinois, and then win 1 game as BIG #4 seed over OSU, MSU or Maryland would do it.
