Week 8 Other Games Thread

ending to the ND game sickening

I can't believe I was actually cheering for ND at the end. I want to punch Winston and Jimbo every time I see them.

Lots of drama: get the first down on 4th and 18, PI on the last TD. Crazy finish.

I feel like I need to take a shower after watching Jimbo Bimbo's slimy, smug, self-absorbed post game interview.

Stanford really has fallen. Arizona is up 17-3 late in the 3rd quarter and looks like they will win comfortably.

Man, that ND ending went from awesome to really sucky really fast.

I'm just glad I didn't care that much, because if that was my team who lost on a questionable pass interference call with 20 seconds left, I'd be livid for weeks.

That wasn't a questionable call.

And I hate all things FSU and Anus Jameis.

Yeah, it was an easy call, even in that situation. The guy didn't even try to look like he was running a route.

It's kind of like Wisconsin being called for holding. It is rarely called, and when it is it's obvious to everyone, but if it isn't called everyone just goes about their business.

I didn't get to see the replay due to a few factors but was it obvious the receiver initiated contact?

I agree with a lot of what has been said already and was definitely cheering for Notre Dame, which is definitely the first time I've ever said that.

And the thing that stood out to me about the play is that if the WR who set the pick ran a standard crossing/pick route the other WR who caught the TD would've had enough space to make the catch and score, IMO. It was a good play call and ND didn't need to hold/block so blatantly.

So looked at the replay and the defender initiated contact. Bad call.

Mark May said its an "egregious" pick. Bull. Is this a case where the rule as written is not called that way? The defender initiated contact and never made a movement to the pylon until after the pass was in the air and it was far too late. Just a ticky tack call and questionable. None of the defenders even saw then guy that caught the TD. It was a blown coverage.

If that OPI is a good call then there is offensive holding that could be called on every play. Start calling that.

We don't want to sit arounds and argue about calls. That's why the officials need to be consistent. There is no consistency in the application of the rules. Let them play.

Just noticed that Tennessee had 0.0 rushing yards on 28 attempts against Ole Miss yesterday. Ouch!
