Week 7 Other Games Thread

No, those are two different things. If you think they missed a DPI, that’s one thing, but face guarding is not a penalty.

Iit may lower the threshold of calling DPI, since the DB is not considered to have an equal right to the ball.
Doesn't the defender have to turn though?

Nope, refs will allow more contact if both players are going for the ball, if you turn you have a right to the ball. You could put your hands up to block the vision of the pass receiver and it is not a penalty.

So is UCLA suddenly good or is MSU bad? Probably a little of both....

I just texted the director of the broadcast of the UCLA/MSU game to request more shots of Neuhiesel.

He deserves more screen time.

Sparty being taken to the woodshed, now 31-7. The back QB looks like he'll be in the rest of the way for Sparty. I think he's better than Chiles.

MSU is and has been bad so is Wisconsin, people seem to think they are just temporarily down and always expecting them to bounce back in a year. It’s going to take years before either is good again, and even longer to be consistently good again.

I noticed Jalen Berger is playing for UCLA, he played two years for Wisconsin, 2 for MSU and now is in his second year with UCLA.

What a fun goal line play
Felt like the right balance of recognizing the obvious (you need to do something creative because you are too outmanned to call a conventional play that requires you to win a battle straight up on the goal line) but also not desperate and gimmicky (like trying to have the right guard throw a pass to the qb).

Missouri defender just destroyed the Alabama RB. I think he was knocked out before he even hit the ground. Brutal.

Mizzou and Big Al turning into a good one. 20-17 Alabama, 9 min to go.

Tough spot on the fake punt by Missouri....have to hold Bama to a FG to keep it one score late.

Ballsy decision by Alabama to go for it on 4th and goal but it paid off for them.

Mizzou can never get that program defining win to be taken seriously in the SEC...had chances over the years with Florida and Georgia, all at home.

Florida St. in trouble, down 27-24 and Pitt is driving. 5 minutes left.

Pitt QB scrambles, fumbles forward, and Pitt recovers. Inside the 20, 3 minutes left.

Florida St. down 10 with 2 minutes to go and no timeouts. 1 millionth conference loss in a row coming up?

Going to be a weird take, but I would’ve kicked a fg at the end if I was Illinois. Every last bit of point margins matter for them if they’re going to try get in at 10-2 and a 2 score loss looks nicer on the score sheet than a 3 score whether that’s 15 or 11 doesn’t matter

Washington St getting the ball back down 3 with a minute left at Ole Miss.

WSU’s 1st play at their own 10 with 1:07 left and no TO was a run for 6 yards. As expected, they ran out of time.

I’m sure the media will be consistently critical of Ole Miss for winning by 3 when being 32.5 point favorites.
