I honestly wasn't sure if they'd actually eject both or either team this week, THEY DID!

Week 1 they were ranked 1 and 2 ... that's a fall.

7 to unranked is supposedly the second farthest fall in the AP ever too.

Good. Neither should be ranked right now the way they’re trending.

Indiana is too high at 7 based on who they’ve (not) played, but the media are happy to set up a higher ranked matchup with Oregon. That should be a fun game.

My guess is that there are a number of Big Ten and SEC teams ranked higher than they should be right now. Michigan at 15 also feels like a reach.

Indiana will have the chance to prove they belong against Oregon this weekend. What will be interesting is to see how they are handled if they get blown out because looking at the rest of their schedule they have a chance to run the table over the rest of their schedule with PSU not looking so good now after losing to UCLA.

Yeah I'm ok with Indiana a bit high ... if only because we get to find out now.

And the Irish went up five spots...nobody can tell me the two weeks remaining ranked with no wins didn't help their climb today.

You play the teams on the schedule and they smoked Illinois - which is a very good team. Also, they get ranked #7 because the SEC and B12 don't really have elite teams this year.

Yep, they opened as 8.5 point underdogs to Oregon. They need to beat or at the very least play really well against Oregon if they want people to believe they belong with the CFP teams.

Its tough doing rankings this early in the season with teams who are undefeated against a soft schedule. Maybe indiana will lose and fall. But no one would bat an eye if Georgia, Alabama, or OSU were ranked 7 at this point with Indianas schedule to date. If nothing else, I think indiana should be ranked higher than anyone who hasn't beaten anyone good (and Illinois is at least solid) but has lost to a really good team.

My buddy texted on Saturday and said PSU should fall to 15. I responded that no 2-loss team with no Power 4 wins should be ranked at all this early in the season. I didn't even realize Texas was in the same boat.

If ever there was a year to illustrate just how pointless pre-season top 25 rankings are this is probably it.

#1 Texas, #2 Penn State and #4 Clemson are out of the top 25 by week 7.
Yes

The most deserving versus most talented debate probably goes back to 1936.
