Week 4 Other Games Thread

Perhaps Illinois is the paper tiger.
They have some names and an old qb, but really I didn’t understand why they were getting so much love this year. This is one Indy should want to run it up on them too so they still make the CFB even if they lose to PSU and oregon

I just turned on the Indiana-Illinois game in time to see Indy score their fifth TD of the first half.

I've been skeptical of Illinois' ranking and reputation this season, and I'm glad to see Bulimia's boys getting the spanking they deserve.

Why can Indiana come out of nowhere like this and just dominate. They make more big plays in a game when I watch them than the gophers do the whole season.

Why or what is causing this for Indiana?

I've been skeptical about them based on the soft schedule last year and soft schedule to this point this year. But they look really impressive right now against Illinois. Maybe Cignetti has cracked the code for how to win at Indiana in football......will be interesting to see how they do with a tougher schedule this season.
He has won at a few places:

Another thing is both his OC and DC have been with him since Elon, as WR and LB coach respectively, then worked their way up and got promoted to coordinators.

Fleck has a guy like that as WR coach ... but Fleck refuses to promote him to OC.

IU is smack dab in the middle of a big chunk of population that can easily travel around (mostly flat land): Chicago, STL, Memphis, Nashville, Louisville, Cincy, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit

Think that's like 50M people? Or something big

They just needed a reason to go to IU to play football, and now they have one: a coaching staff that knows how to win football games

It makes no sense

Their recruiting classes the last 4 years have been average to below average.

I don't get it.

Fleck couldn’t find an OC/play caller in a room full of Bill Walsh’s and Andy Reid’s.

The Illinois defense has been getting the ball to their offense really quickly. Isn’t that the defensive goal?

Of course that is because of quick Indiana offensive touchdowns but oh well.

I'd rather lose a late west coast game to Cal than be ranked #9 and get slaughtered in prime time
Ugly.

There’s IU guys just running around untouched everywhere while the Gophers have to drive 10+ plays every time and really work for every TD in Big Ten games. Even when the Gophers are winning, playing weaker teams, and have a good team.

Yep, I seriously don't get it.
