Week 11 Other Games Thread

Hurdling now means stepping on.
Right call, you see the defender clearly step on the back of one of the Iowa lineman. In some ways though it could work out in UCLA's favor because more plays Stratton has to run the more likely it is that he makes a mistake and turns it over.

Or not....all tied up in the 4th. UCLA just has to figure out how to stay out of their own way and not let Iowa, Iowa their way to an ugly victory. but it is their specialty.

So 17-17 in 4th Q. Iowa has 2 penalties for 20 yards; UCLA has 9 penalties for 84 yards. Clean it up UCLA and take home a win. Both teams have 3 turnovers. Ouch.

If Iowa wins, UCLA will have no one to blame but themselves for the 2 first half turnovers at the goal line. No way Iowa should win this one but It is their specialty so won't shock me if they find a way to get it done.

This is Iowa's starting qb next year.

Let's go UCLA

The Bruins are running it down Iowa’s throat. Of course this is the year we played them early in the season. If we played them at the end of the season like usual we would be playing much better and we would’ve caught them with their fifth string QB.

Nice W by UCLA.

Not sure why they didn't kneel down/Victory formation after the 2 minute warning, risking a fumble but all well that ends well.

Good thing that the Gophers got the Bruins early though.

Same thing I’ve been thinking. The one year we play them early and they come out hot and seem to fade through the year while we do the opposite.

UCLA gets more sloppy penalties than any team I’ve seen this year. Every time they show Foster he’s just shaking his head.
Iowa got physically dominated especially when you consider they were spotted 10 early.
Can’t have letdowns.

Wasn’t there a crazy stat about teams traveling 2 time zones. Losing at a high rate, Minnesotas win out at L.A. was a very good win.

San Diego State’s field looks like my lawn after a summer of drought and my dog pissing on every square inch. That’s brutal.

Very few upsets in that stat.

This was an example of the original data mining, find me stats that fit a narrative.

It feels so good to be slurping a drink late here on a Friday night after watching the Squawks blow a B1G game. I sort of have a similar feeling as I do after a Gopher victory.

But it will all be for nuttin’ if the Gophers do not take care of business later today. Let’s make this a great weekend.

Don’t forget to watch SDSU/New Mexico on FS1. Not a lot of time left but it’s a good game.

Meh it’s a horse a piece

UCLA played worse tonight than they did against the gophers In many respects
I don't disagree, but they made winning plays when they had to, unlike the Gopher game.

They have momentum now. When the Gophers played them, they didn't.

If I recall correctly, you thought UCLA might be the worst team in the Big 10 back in Sept/Oct. That seemed quite plausible.

The Bruins had never won a Big 10 Conference game when Minnesota showed up at the Rose Bowl, and after it seemed quite possible that they might have to wait until 2025. They have 3 now.

Bronco Mendenhall has a unique QB in Devon Dampier.

I won’t lay out all the stats, but look for him to make a major move to a really good P4 school.

Dynamic.

Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite them. UCLA looking really good outside of the turnovers.
That UCLA team was way better than people gave them credit for. They gained like ~8 yards per play against the Gophers. Only reason Minnesota walked away with the W was UCLA's absurd penalty yardage and three turnovers.
