Wolverines Wire first out of the gate:

4. Minnesota

Again without Tanner Morgan, it didn’t matter for the Gophers. Athan Kaliakmanis did next to nothing, but the run game got more than 300 yards, led by Mohamed Ibrahim with 178 and three touchdowns.

Hapless Northwestern got over 200 yards passing, but only 72 yards rushing against the Gophers.

At the moment, Minnesota controls its own destiny, and has Iowa next.

Go Gophers!!

Buckeyes Wire chimes in:

4. Minnesota

Won vs. Northwestern, 31-3

5+1
After some midseason injuries and issues finding consistency, the Golden Gophers seem to have found things again and are right in the mix for the West Division title. Then again, every team aside from Nebraska and Northwestern is still right there. Minnesota has feasted on three of the worst teams in the league over the last three weeks, but this Saturday will tell us a lot.

Spartans Wire chimes in:

6. Minnesota

Record: 7-3 (4-3 in Big Ten)

This week’s result: Win vs. Northwestern

Next game: vs. Iowa (Nov. 19)

Minnesota simply keeps taking care of business with another easy victory. The opponents will get tougher, however, with their final two games coming against Iowa and Wisconsin.

Last Week’s Spot: #5
Mo Ibrahim has now run for more than 100 yards in 18 consecutive games. The longest FBS streak since 2000. The Gophers’ defense continues to shine, with safety Tyler Nubin leading the way.
