Noel’s Big Ten Power Rankings.

 

At the conclusion of week 11, we now have four teams on top of the Big Ten West. The final two weeks should be entertaining. 

Where do teams stand after Week 11?


1.Michigan (10-0)
Last Week’s Spot: #1
The Wolverines continue to roll after their dominant win over the Huskers. The Michigan defense only allows 146 total yards.
Next Up: Illinois

 

 2. Ohio State (10-0)
Last Week’s Spot: #2
Make that 28 straight wins over Indiana. The injury bug hits the Buckeyes again, with tailback Miyan Williams leaving before halftime with a leg injury.
Next Up: @ Maryland

 

3. Penn State (8-2) 
Last Week’s Spot: #3
With the shutout victory over Maryland, Sean Clifford passed Trace McSorley in all-time passing yards.
Next Up: @ Rutgers

 

4. Minnesota (7-3) 
Last Week’s Spot: #5
Mo Ibrahim has now run for more than 100 yards in 18 consecutive games. The longest FBS streak since 2000. The Gophers’ defense continues to shine, with safety Tyler Nubin leading the way.
Next Up: Iowa 

 

5. Illinois (7-3) 
Last Week’s Spot: #4
The Illini had a sloppy game, as they were called for 12 penalties for 121 yards in their loss to Purdue.The Big Ten West is now wide open.

6. Iowa (6-4) 
Last Week’s Spot: #9
The Hawkeyes keep doing what they do best: creating turnovers, flipping the field, and avoiding shooting themselves in the foot. With the win over rival Wisconsin, their Big Ten West hopes remain alive.
Next Up: @ Minnesota

 

7. Purdue (6-4) 
Last Week’s Spot: #9
The Boilermakers snapped their two game losing streak by marching into Champaign and beating 21st-ranked Illinois. With the win, Purdue has the best chance of winning the Big Ten West.
Next Up: Northwestern

 

8. Wisconsin (5-5) 
Last Week’s Spot: #6
With the loss to Iowa, their Big Ten West hopes are destroyed. Now the goal is to become bowl eligible.
Next Up: @ Nebraska

 

9.Michigan State (4-5) 
Last Week’s Spot: #12
After dropping four straight games, the Spartans have won three of their last four. They hope to become bowl eligible next week when Indiana comes into town.
Next Up: Indiana

 

10. Maryland (6-4) 
Last Week’s Spot: #5

Nothing went right in Happy Valley for the Terrapins, as they were held to 134 total yards on offense. Maryland is now 2-9 overall in the month of November under head coach Mike Locksley.
Next Up: Ohio State. 

 

11.Rutgers (4-6) 
Last Week’s Spot: #11
The Scarlet Knights must win their final two games to be considered for a bowl game. It’s going to be a tough task as they host Penn State next week.

12. Nebraska (3-7) 
Last Week’s Spot: #12
The Huskers haven’t scored a touchdown in the last seven quarters. Nebraska has a chance to play spoiler in their next two games, but the question is, will they?

13. Indiana (3-7) 
Last Week’s Spot: #13

Good News: The Hoosiers won their first three games. Bad news: They have the next seven games.
Next Up: @ Michigan State 

 

14. Northwestern (1-7) 
Last Week’s Spot: #14
After giving Ohio State fits last week, Northwestern’s offense couldn’t generate anything against the Gophers. The Wildcats could determine the Big Ten West champions in the next two games by playing spoiler.
Next Up: @ Purdue.
