Wednesday's Starting Line-up?

I'd like to see Dre Hollins at the 2.

Welch
Dre Hollins
A Hollins
Williams
Sampson

I think this is the direction we will go.. It provides for a quick lineup..and we don't lose anyting at the SF as I think Hollins can easily slide into that role.. It allows for EE to come off the bench and rotate with Ralph. We will have Andre, Chip, Mav and Joe off the bench. It has not been mentioned, but I like Andre's play at PF off the bench. He is no Trevor but he looks confident inside and is not afraid of contact. I think he will develop into a decent physical guy to throw at teams.

I'm not ready to write the season off.. I do think that we have a better chance at surviving this than we didn Al's injury last year..

Trevor has already won more games single-handedly for us this year then Al did all of last year.
who will mix it up with tOSU's bigs? wisky's bigs? EE? Rodney?
we will be destroyed down low.

Purdue also had Johnson and Moore, two very good players. Mentioning UNC makes no sense as there is no comparison. They are a top 5 program and have a roster loaded with talent.

UNC is just an example. I understand that they have a roster full of McD AAs.

but you make my point for me by referring to Johnson and Moore. Purdue had other parts. The fact that losing Trevor could end up resulting in a lost season shows that this roster lacks talent overall. in year 5 at 2 million a year that should not be the case.

I'm thinking Tubby will start:
Hollins
Hollins
Sampsom
Rodney
Ingram

You're not wrong but all you're really saying is that the Gophers weren't good enough to be arguably the best team in the country as UNC is this year and Purdue would've been last year. That was already obvious.

Purdue went from three all americans to two, and from a legit shot at the national title to not making an elite eight.

Gophers went from a top 25 team with two point guards to a bad team without a single point guard. The drop-offs seem about equal to me.

Sounds like Tubby will go small adding Welch to the starting lineup and moving Rodney to the 4.

Seems like the right move to me. I'd keep a short leash on Ralph and Rodney. If they show up with energy and focus great, if not put in elliot and ingram.

I think that line-up will score, just depends if they can defend and rebound.

Look at it this way; we'll have something different to watch starting Wednesday.

With Mbakwe out, who replaces him in the starting line-up? Oto, Julian, or Elliot? I would have Julian play point and move Rodney to the 4 and Andre to the 2. I also would change the offense to have one in and 4 out like Michigan.

Why on earth would you want to see that lineup??? Two lerches tripping over each other in the low post? Who wants to see that? What are you 80 years old?

I don't know what to say, this just isn't going to work, not one of the inside players would provide a strong physical presence, how are you going to defend and rebound. If you think lack of a PG was a problem last year, this lineup will be that much more troublesome. Williams and Sampson are really going to have to get a mean streak and fast.

I like our chances with this, rather than putting in untested and turnover prone 1st year bigs. Going small is our only chance. We will have to run alot.

Yup

I like the small line-up Tubby is going with per Marcus' tweet today--Hollins, Welch, Hollins, Williams, and Sampson. We certainly lose some toughness, but this at least gives us a chance to run and press more. That is our only chance as I see it, as the guys we have will not play tougher than they have in the past. We are who we are. We need to maximize the strengths of who we have left. Elliason, Ingram, and Chip will give us some solid minutes and some much needed toughness off the bench with this rotation. Hopefully our guards can mature quickly and get the turnovers under control. Go Gophs!
