WEBER - 5/9 for 82 yards, 0 TD's & 2 INT's...

The biggest problem I see right now is that Weber still has another year left. What is Brewster going to do, bench him? I can't put up with another year of Adam Weber. He's the worst QB in the Big Ten, and that's pretty bad.

Actually yes. He could bench him. And he's not the worst in the B10. He's close though. By every meaningful measure Juice Williams is the worst QB in the conference. Which, oddly enough, is why he was benched.

I never know how to respond to the typical arrogant, rambling, non-sequitor, know-it-all, "i told you so," Upchurch post.

As for the Wayzata point about always playing their third string QB....they have that luxury. They're Wayzata - ranked in the top 20 high school teams IN THE NATION. They can win and still experiment with backups at every position. Unfortunately the Gophers are not as lucky.

I've been against putting gray in but mostly because the situation was never right, and I'm less concerned about Weber than most. But today was a perfect opportunity to give him a series and they didn't. I'm a little dissapointed. however we did get some more of the two deeps in. Jacobs looked better today. Cooper is looking like Lawrence looked at this time last year. Carpenter saw the field a little more, not that the ball went his way. It was a good game for the team with that one exception of gray not getting some reps.

He WAS benched. By the 2nd half of the Illinois-MSU game, he was back in since Eddie McGee was just as dreadful. Juice came back in and at least got a few points on the board.

Maybe something like this is needed here - bench Weber for a half to motivate him, and then trot him out in the second half and see how he responds.
