Illinois is a mess and I watched a bit of the Wisconsin/Rutgers game. Rutgers had some success running the ball on Wisconsin. Shut down Erickson and their TE and keep the running game under 150 yards and I like our chances. Btw....Pequot Lakes could beat Rutgers. They're the worst team in both divisions.

Rutgers had 38 rushing attempts for 83 yards. 2.2 ypc.

We should handle Illinois at home (then again, we should've beaten Nebraska at home - on paper).
Wisconsin is another topic. I don't know if its the "Curse of the Essen Haus Stein" or what, but we just can't seem to beat those damn badgers. My hopes for this particular matchup have been dashed so many times, that I just won't set myself up for disappointment by expecting a win.

I think if we get two wins and one is against Wisconsin
everyone in the state will except this season as progress with all the things that have happened with injuries and the Coach!

Get the axe and all is forgotten

Agree on the ax. The Gophers have had a brutal schedule this year. Compound that with injuries 6-6 to me is a win, win situation. I don't mind going out on a limb and predicting a victory. If we lose we Gopher fans have tough.enough armor from what's happened in the past to rally for the next year. We're the most mentally tough fan base in college football. ( Cue up the Michigan game) Becky fans?
If they lose the ax the meltdown in Madison will be like Chernoble. They've nothing else to live for.

I feel the same now as I did after tcu. We will beat everyone remaining on the schedule except we might lose to Ohio State.

I find it hard to even think about the Wisconsin game, which is four weeks away. Going on the road to play two undefeated teams is a far bigger concern. Wisconsin is a long ways off. I anticipate they will be 6-1 in the conference coming in to the game. They will be playing with a lot of confidence.

Gotta give it to you Rupert - when you predict a Gopher win over the Badgers every year for over a decade, eventually you HAVE to get it right. Then, you can come back on here and tell everyone you saw it coming the whole time!

I think this is the year too, there was a lot of emphasis on this game in the offseason. Bucky will probably be 6-1 but records don't seem to matter in rivalries worse gopher teams have beaten better Bucky teams. I.E the Wacker years. Wisconsin could possibly be playing for a spot in Indy, although if Iowa is 7-0 that weekend they own the head to head tie breaker and odds are will be playing for our bowl game lives. Guessing losing on senior day is not how those guys want to go out, team will be motivated

No ..I haven't predicted a win every year over the past decade. I did say you would get beat by Alabama .
Last year I said you would crap the bed against Olio State in Indy. 3 years ago I said you would lose on the road to Oregon State. No, I won't say I saw it coming. Just watching you clowns melt like the wicked witch of the West will be good enough for me.

call me crazy, but I think the Gophs have a chance to beat Iowa. I just keep thinking that Iowa is doing this with smoke and mirrors, and at some point, they're going to come back to earth. Hopefully against MN.

God Bless this man!

I think they could lose to Indiana this weekend.

I love me some good Gopher optimism! I don't think we have of a shot at all against Ohio St or Iowa but Illinois and Wisco at home are very winable. We had WI's number last year and they are much worse. We played very well against Michigan for essentially the entire game, that was just a coaching mistake that won't happen again.

We also benefited from them losing their starting QB for half the game.

Minnesota was leading Michigan 23-21 when Ruddock went out with less than five minutes to go in the third quarter...which apparently means halftime.

Anime Frog Guy wouldn't want to let facts get in the way of his narrative of negativity.

What do you get out of trolling another team's message board? Does it make your insecurities feel manageable for a day?

That's funny because factchecker was labeled a troll on the Wisconsin board as well.

Huh?
