We need to decide on what Coach's name is.

Alright I'm calling him Coach Pitino or CP.

Rich is lame.
Dick is cliche.
Richie makes you sound like a *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#.
Richard is too stuffy.
Rico/Rocky/etc are dumb wannabe Italian monikers.

Im leaning towards Coach Ricco.

Uncle Rico?

At this point anything less than Richard "Buck" Pitino is sub par. Just an fyi, Buck is not a redneck name, see Buck Martinez or Buck Showalter. Two of the most recognized mlb managers in history. Go Gophers!

What I want to know is how Dick Jonckowski is going to introduce him. Will it be ala Tubby: RIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCHHHHHH PITINO or like he did Blake: RICH PIIIIIIiTTTTIIIINNNNOOOO. What will it be?

His name is Rich Pitino. It's pointless to try and come up with a nickname that maybe only 5-10 people would refer to him as in person.

"Richard Pitino will take us to the final four within 5 years"! GopherinPhilly

Hmm, That's interesting, the same thought was going around when Tubby was hired.

All I know is in 10 months Sid will be calling him "his close personal friend"

I think my favorite part of the presser is when Coach P laughed at Sid.

'The Governor'

Iowa State already has 'The Mayor'

"It's not like he's following Vince Lombardi"...............joel maturi.

Chip

As in chip off the old block

i apologize in advance for not knowing or getting it, but where does "Buck" come from in this instance? i don't see the relevance or any connection at all.

The weird thing to me is when Amelia asked him what he wanted to be called, he didn't seem to care either.
Personally, I like Rich but if I were to talk to Coach Pitino, I would call him Coach.

I probably don't get a vote but I like either Little Richard or Little Ricky. Those of you under the age of 35 might have to google these...

My reasoning is that ourCoach Pitino is always going to be referred to as Rick's son, and I don't think that is fair. So my thoughts are let's call him something like BUCK and let him build his success on his own without references to dad.

We need the Coach to get a handle on Gopherhole so he can weigh in.

I agree with Westcoast that Dick is cliche, but I'm an old-fashioned guy, so I'd like to go with Coach Dick.

Really bad idea.

That would be simply phenomenal if Rich joined Gopherhole.

I would like to see Pitino get on Gopherhole to blast Reusse.
