Chip Scoggins just verified this. Interviewed in the Dells on Thursday.
Hope they enjoyed the wave pool.

I posted this on another thread. Likely Maturi will have to release the names of "finalists" for the job. It's likely they'll release two names, one being the hire and the other being a coordinator from somewhere who nobody will be mad at for trying for a promotion. Chryst may be that coordinator.
You wouldn't want to release the name of a head coach who was a finalist but didn't get the offer because it undermines his credibility at his current gig.
Guz Malzahn has flat out been successful wherever he's gone. And it will happen when he gets a head coaching position.
Is Guz related to Gus?
Only in Minnesota do people care where the next coach comes from. If this guy can help us win football games, I don't care if he is from the Taliban. If he is a competitive guy (which he has to be to coach big time football), he will want to beat B squared everytime and shove it in his face - even if they are friends.
I don't know enough about him to say he is the best guy, but he is very highly regarded and he makes around $300k. Give him 1.5 and he'll throw that red and white sweater away in a hurry. SKI U MAH!!
All things being equal, I don't want another Wisconsin guy. Why are so many people hung up on the "Wisconsin Model"? Many programs turn themselves around every year. What about the Mizzou model or something? The more Maturi tries to replicate what he was a part of at Wisconsin with the Alvarez hire / program turnaround, the less flexible he becomes and the more likely he'll try to jam a square peg in a round hole. IMO
QFT. Malzahn is the shizz. Seeing him work with Gray would be a beautiful, beautiful thing.
The Wisconsin model involves be attracted to dead people and dead animals. The people in Wisconsin may believe this is the norm since they go through life completely intoxicated. For me, I do not get a woody when I see a dead deer on the side of the road.
