Lou Holtz has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The 83-year-old former college football coach confirmed the test Thursday to Columbia TV station WOLO.

“I don’t have a lot of energy right now,” Holtz told the ABC station.

" Over the summer, when the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences announced they were postponing their college football schedules because of the coronavirus pandemic, Holtz strongly objected, comparing players to American soldiers in World War II.

"Let's move on with our life," Holtz said on Fox News. "When they stormed Normandy, they knew there were going to be casualties and there would be risks."

In August, Holtz was a featured speaker at the Republican National Convention, during which he called Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden a "Catholic in name only." His comments were later disavowed by Notre Dame officials, as school president Rev. John Jenkins said Holtz was speaking for himself and not the university."

Hate to say it, but maybe Lou's comments as far as casualties could end up being self-fulfilling
