Minnesota is 1-0 versus Belmont defeating the Bruins 75-74 at Williams on December 14, 2016 led by Jesse Edwards with 29 points. Belmont was coached by Cameron Newbauer who took the Florida head coaching job after the season. Newbauer lasted until 2021 when he resigned following abuse allegations,

I think the U is setting up a fan flight to go to Indy
It looks like Creative Charters has something if they get enough people.

Let's hope this game goes better than last year's WNIT final against Saint Louis.

Belmont is a very solid team that has played tough against some strong teams throughout the year.

-Lost 63-67 at home to #12 Ohio State
-Lost 58-68 to Michigan in preseason tournament
-Lost 70-73 at Mississippi State
-Lost 78-84 at #16 Kentucky
-Lost 55-57 at Missouri State
-Defeated Missouri State 67-61
-Defeated Missouri State 76-67 in MVC Tournament
-Clobbered James Madison (#1 seed) 90-45 in WBIT quarterfinal
-Defeated Villanova (#4 seed) 66-57 in WBIT semifinal

The Bruins have balanced scoring with 4 players between 12.8 and 10.2 ppg. 9 players average over 10 minutes per game.

Also of note with Belmont is that Taylor Woodson's younger sister Tatum will be joining their team in the fall once she graduates from high school.

Every time Belmont gets mentioned, I flash back to that horrendous NCAA tournament game (in 2007, I think?) when they lost to Georgia at Williams Arena in a game where Belmont kept jacking up threes and went something like 1-28 on them.

Belmont was 1-26 while Georgia was a scorching 3-16 from three

Not directly related to this game: But how many of our four WBIT tournament victories would have Quad 1 and Quad 2?

Q1 would still be zero. This site has the Gophers listed as home team for the first two games. But if you consider them the away team it would give them 2-3 more Q2 wins:

Toledo Q3 (Q4 as home team)
Missouri St Q2 (Q3 as home team)
Gonzaga Q4
Florida Q2

Belmont would be Q2.

Tori is a machine tonight. On the other hand Battle is going to have to pay masonry union dues with all the bricks she is throwing.

Who in the heck are these announcers? In love with Belmont. My goodness. Those two need to stay away from coffee! Guess I'll turn the volume off. Go Gophers!
Lol, the announcers in the Florida game were almost cheering for them n now we have the let’s go Belmont group. Doesn’t matter- go beat them into silence.

Peculiar game from Battle, she’s playing really fast like we are behind. Hopefully her second half better. So glad Mc Kinney came to play. Good to have the lead but Belmont can comeback. Had a lot of good shots not go in, keep shooting eventually they will fall.

Tori is playing so well on offense and defense.. Belmont attacks on defense, so Amaya has to react, hopefully she can pass to the open player. You can tell she is used to trying to dribble out of pressure. Still she is playing good on defense and her and Tori are causing problems for their guards. We also help and recover or switch very well on defense. Heyer had a nice half and moves well without the ball and is getting her normal large number of rebounds. Finish them off Gophers!
