WBIT Game 3: Gophers host Gonzaga (3-27-25)

This is probably the worst they have looked all year. Defense is constantly scrambling and look completely lost.

Shooters, shooters, shooters, and shooters is what we desperately need in portal.

This team looks bad. Hope they get it together. Sorry to state the obvious but has Dawn P. Won a game this year where the team was not a 20 point favorite?

Sorry Dawn P. Needs to look in the mirror this team did not improve at all through the course of the season. Ugly game.

Not just shooters. We need players who can create their own shot. Right now Battle is the only one we have. A pass first point guard to play along side of her would be nice too.

That was an exciting game. The last five minutes of regulation and overtime were the most hyped crowd I’ve seen at our games in awhile! The refs looked like it was their first day on the job for a good chunk of the night.

Our Gophers battled hard the whole time. They seemed quite off for a few minutes at a time, and right after appear the most locked in you could ask for a few minutes later. They always fight to the end, and I’ve enjoyed watching that!

I’m excited for them to get this Final Four experience. I got on here excited to celebrate with everyone, and we still have some posters that make every post sound like they’re excited to share a new level of negativity they’ve discovered. I wish they’d take a break and get offline. We do need to improve finishing at the rim, but the ladies will fight to the end for the win.

Very exciting game. It was great to be there in person. Congratulations, Gophers!

So from all the complaints here the women played poorly AND WON! I consider that a good sign. Not all wins are works of art.

Was brilliant putting Battle on Ejim at the end, made it difficult to catch the pass set and shoot. Been waiting for Battle to get double digit assist this year!
Holloway played her tough, also.

Agreed. Gophers played really hard. Next year I'd say the future is bright. We get two really talented basketball players back that are currently injured and return a lot of experience. Second quarter was really tough. That # 15 Ejim for Gonzaga is a terrific player, that Western Athletic conference player of year and possibly a player talented enough to play professionally might even make it in WNBA.

Can anyone help me understood Plitzuweit's effusive praise for Hart after the game? I get that she was talking about defense not offense (since she only took two shots, which I also don't get, surrounded by shorter posts) but she didn't seem that effective on D to me, either. Very confounding that, combined, the three posts scored, what? Six points?

Worst referee job I have seen in a while. Ejim is a special player. She got away with moving screens and hip checks. Resulted in Tori's last foul. I assume that this was a career game for Battle. Gonzaga could really move the ball around, something we need to do a little more. Great win, electric crowd for final quarter and OT. Great to see the student section with the barn animals too.

Another game where the best player on the court was on the opposing team (Ejim) and yet the Gophers found a way to beat them. Glad to see them learning and growing.

She was making some solid passes and setting decent screens in the 4th quarter. She did her best to get hands in passing lanes, couple deflections, and pulled down a few key rebounds in 4th. Hart played with more urgency in 4th quarter, it wasn't obvious but she helped her teammates get some open looks. Holloway had some good defense and deflections in the 4th quarter. Too bad she fouled out because she actually started keying the rally on defense, her and Grace and Amaya created key turnovers against Gonzaga. Gonzaga had a lot of length and quickness and seemed to always have waves of players all game find open looks and were very pesky in the passing lanes. That 9 to 0 run was key for the Gophers. Sophie's energy and effort really perked up in 4th quarter I thought.

and I thought B1G refs were bad.. my god.. it would be to soon to see this crew ever AGAIN..

Battle with a double double.. a career high in points with 35 and 10 assists

GG after a very slow start finished with 20 and a COUPLE B1G 3's

Tori WAS AGGRESSIVE from the tip tonight.. how she didn't have 6-7 fts is really confusing as she was getting WHACKED on every drive.

even though Nia didn't score she BROUGHT the ENERGY and SPARK off the bench!

game is 4pm on Monday on ESPNU
