Not looking good for Rachel Banham finally getting to play in a NCAA Tournament. Going to be a significant uphill climb to get a bid. Didn't beat anybody of note during the non-conference part of the schedule.

What a bad break that the only season she played on a NCAA-caliber team is the one season she got hurt.

Was thinking the other night while watching the Gopher volleyball team; how much better would WBB be if all these tall athletic volleyball ladies were playing basketball?

18 conference games now, Ruppert. This squad has WNIT written all over it. Haven't beaten anybody, and probably won't beat anybody of significance the way they defend.
 

If they knock off Purdue on the road, the mood will swing back to the positive

Yep, that and they haven't beaten anybody. 0-3 vs. the RPI top 50. Their tournament chances likely will hinge on the last 3 games, @ Michigan State, Ohio State, @ Maryland, all NCAA-caliber squads. Probably will need to win 2 of those 3 to have a fighting chance going into the B1G Tournament.

MSU @ Maryland postponed again. Schools will have to figure out a suitable makeup date.
 

I think things are looking pretty good.
Tue., Jan. 26 vs. Illinois Winnable - Should be the easiest of the remaining games
Sun., Jan. 31 at Michigan Not easy but winnable
Thu., Feb. 4 vs. Rutgers Winnable - Pay back at our house. Just guard Scaife tight. Box and 1?
Sun., Feb. 7 at Northwestern Winnable - Won't be easy but we beat them before
Thu., Feb. 11 vs. Nebraska Winnable - Glad we don't play them at their house
Mon., Feb. 15 vs. Iowa Winnable
Thu., Feb. 18 at Indiana Winnable
Sun., Feb. 21 at Michigan State Tough
Wed., Feb. 24 vs. Ohio State Tough but we might match up well
Sun., Feb. 28 at Maryland Tough

With 10 games left in the regular season, if the Gophers win 6 plus add a win in the Big tourney, I would hope that would be enough. Of course, a win over one of those marquee teams would help a lot.
 

Protect the home court and sneak one in on the road. That gives us 11 wins. Probably one win in the tourney should get us in. Agree Shades
 

The MEN are at 220, with Norfolk st., Houston Baptist, and Eastern Kentucky nipping at their heels...Should be an exciting finish to see who finishes higher.:rolleyes:

From here on out probably need to get at least 3 top-50 wins. Won't be easy. On the road would be preferable. ... @ Michigan State and @ Maryland would be the best ones to get.

Can't afford any home losses the rest of the way either.

Huh? The place I look at for rpi's has the Gophers at #87 and Northwestern at #86.
