WBB: Rachel Banham's Jersey to be Retired

As announced at the scrimmage:

The University of Minnesota women’s basketball program will retire the jersey of one of its all-time great players this season. Rachel Banham, the Gophers’ most prolific scorer, will be honored at the Maryland game Jan. 1.

A little off topic, but does anyone know how close McCarville is to getting a degree so her number can be retired?

I hope we can pull off the upset of MD for Banham's big day. Larry Fitzgerald just finished his degree in honor of a promise he made to his Mom. I would not assume that a degree does not matter to McCarville. I don't know if she is working on her degree or not but wish her well.

I know time flies and all but it has been 11 years and her jersey number has been used by other players. I, too, suspect a degree is not a high priority for McCarville, much as I'd love to see her with a banner in the rafters.
