Yup. They’re better. They’re both much closer to the gophers than they are to Ohio state or Michigan. As are Washington and UCLA


UCLA under .500 5 of last 8 and 9 of last 20
Washington under .500 7 of last 20
Michigan state under .500 8 of last 20
Minnesota under .500 8 of last 20
 


The decision, collectively made by whomever, is toward SEC and B10 super conferences, where TV contracts are everything, and student athletes, regional conferences, tradition, even fans in the stands means little. The Gophers will not do well in the coming 18-team conference. This was their year to win the first title of any kind since 1967, and they had tie-breakers over Iowa and Nebraska. A real disappointment.
