In ESPN best individual season poll. He's up against Manziel so he doesn't stand a chance but he was all american both ways!!

http://espn.go.com/ncf/feature/theSeason

I voted for:
Sanders, Dorsett, Nagurski, Newton, Thomas, Grange, Walker, Allen

I voted for Sanders, Rozier, Flutie, Woodson, Allen, Grange, Bronco, Walker

from the site regarding Bronko

The most dominant all-around player of his era was an All-American on offense and defense. Grantland Rice wrote, "Eleven Nagurskis [on a team] … would be something close to murder and massacre."

Awesome

This is a little off topic, but the 1982 NFL Draft always made me think of the cluelessness period for the Vikings. I couldn't remember why I thought Darrin Nelson was a reach, but when you look at the players available this is a classic. Others who were Pro Bowlers or Hall of Famers were available. Marcus Allen or Mike Munchak.

Not quite as bad as the Packers taking Tony Mandarich just ahead of Deion Sanders, Barry Sanders, and Derrick Thomas (two of whom made this sweet sixteen)!!

He doesn’t stand a chance against Manziel. Too bad. Arguably the best player to ever play the game of football.

Sorry had to vote for Suggs! I know it was sentimental. I just wish the Gophers would have really tried to get him. He had family ties here. :-( Wish Marcus Allen wasn't put against him. Was a huge Allen fan growing up.

Nagarski lost to Manziel, 53% to 47. F-ESPN for the match-up.

These things are worthless. There will be no trophy named after Manziel. Manziel may be a good, even very good player, but he's not one of the all-time greats. Nagurski will be remembered when Manziel is a footnote.

Who actually thinks Red Grange plays a second Vince Young? I would chose Grange and Bronko over any other duo. But then I grew up in Illinois and met Bronko
