Some of the other gopher teams on campus have really had good recruiting years. Wrestling with a No. 1 class (which hasn't been all that unusual for coach Robinson and the guys). But it's great to see that women's volleyball has also picked up a top-ranked class.
As an aside, the class for coach Hebert for next year is ridiculously good also. He already has a commitment from Tori Dixon, the 6-4 outside hitter and daughter of former Viking David Dixon who has been rated as one of the top 10 players in the country. But the big-name is Ashley Wittman, a 6-1 outside hitter from Shakopee who was named national junior of the year by at least one recruiting service last year and has been called the best prospect Hebert has ever recruited at Minnesota.
Here's to more success on the recruiting trail for coach Hebert and his team!!!!
Hopefully they can break Penn State's 6-year title run with one of these classes.. Gophers are the last team (other than Penn State) to win the Big 10 (in 2002).
