Really sad to hear that, such a legend. What a pro. My Dad and Uncles got to hear him call the Brooklyn Dodger games growing up as kids in the 50s. I got to hear him routinely the 2 years I lived in LA during the mid90s.

I remember him being a fixture on CBS TV (The Masters & NFL) then later NBC. The Buckner call just resonates always in my head. Also the Montana-Clark TD pass was phenomenal. When not calling World Series games on TV, he was also the CBS Radio Voice. The Jack Buck call gets the attention, but here is Vin's account of that famous evening in Minnesota sports lore:

I know there were a lot of great, iconic baseball announcers like Jack Buck, Red Barber, Ernie Harwell, Harry Carey, even our own Herb Carneal, but I think Scully was the best of the best. Legend.
